  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dating doesn't have to lead to sex, you know. Unless it leads to marriage, in which case it kind of should lead there.

*serious voice* I am one of the many whom has never been on a date nor asked, nor anything that involves dating.

Do I mind? Eh, there are times when I wish I could go to the movies with someone other then my sister or mom. I don't have many friends, or I would ask them.
But it's also more than the movie thing. Oh, well... it'll happen eventually. If not, I'll live.

Wow, that's odd. I'm sure everyone here is an awesome person that heaps of people would like to be with. It must come with just maybe being rejected once or twice and losing all your confidence to approach someone again. I guess I haven't really been out on an official one on one date either, so I guess this applies to me too. There's been girls who've asked me out, but I'm such an idiot I always said no just because I had the mindset "I'm not going to go out with anyone I can't imagine marrying (just because it leads to an inevitable break-up)" which is ridiculous. Just because I wasn't in love with them when they asked me out I said no. *sigh* Now I know dates are just a cool way of getting to know someone, going on a date doesn't mean you're now in a relationship.. In High school if someone asked you out and you said yes, you two were automatically considered girlfriend boyfriend which I didn't like.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever asked someone out on a date before.. I was close once, I was just going to see if this chick wants to come have a coffee after class lol I must have a fear of rejection??

Never been on date! I get asked out by horrible guys, so I don't count that. I've learned to enjoy my own company. Is it painful sometimes, yes! But overall I feel blessed. I don't want to date just to date. I want my first date to be with someone special. Also I think part of me is turned off from dating because some how sex was added into the dating process. You know the third date rule!!! This is even happening amongst us Christians!

Try about 20 times and you'll be on the right track. I used to have lots of confidence. It took an awful lot to leach it out of me. Seems like it's taking as much to put it back in.

Oh, me? *turns and looks* Have I been on a date? No.
Have I been out to coffee and/or dinner with members of the opposite sex? Yes. Was it prearranged? Sometimes.
