  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Interesting.. I have book market it and will look at it.

I don't have a problem with the modern translations..because the Bible says in
Act 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
Act 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
Act 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Act 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Act 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Act 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

So why wouldn't God allow us a translation in our own language?

Hi All!

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the NET Bible. If you do, do you have an opinion of it?

Any input would be appreciated. :)

Thank you!
Hi GraceLikeRainFallsDown,

The NET Bible is one of my favorite translations, and its a popular version at my church as well.

There are many good English translations out these days, and the NET Bible is one of those good translations. However the Net Bible is unique in that it provides an "under the hood" detailed look at the translation process with its extensive footnotes. These footnotes cover textual and translation issues which are rarely seen in the other English Bible versions.

The entire NET Bible (with its footnotes) is available online for free, or purchased at http://www.bible.org.

I really like the NET bible. If you go to the site www.bible.org you will be able to find a link to a project called the NEXT bible. It has the text of the NET bible but with alot of extras like links to articles, word searches, and the ability to see the verse in all the major translations. Very good study tool.
