Nervous Marine..........

I was just recently diagnosed as Bi-polar2. being a Marine i am scared that this could end everything i have worked so hard for. i have done something which i am currently awaiting GCM for caused by said disorder and am afraid to talk/discuss anything with family. i am seeing a Military ordered Psychologist and am under going EEG therapy. i feel so hopelessly lost. since my return from Iraq in '08 it feels like my life has been crumbling around me. i thank the lord that my marriage is still somewhat stable but i almost gave that up too. i don't know what to do. please if there's anything/ anyone you know of that can help, let me know.

Don't give up on your marriage. She will probably turn out to be your best supporter. Will keep you in my prayers. The doctors are there to help you so listen to them. God will give you the strength to get through this.

Welcome to CF and to this forum. Praying for you as I type. I also have BP2. I work ed for many years and then crashed into depression (MY BP variety is predominantly depression) It took about 10 years of depression before I was diagnosed. But on the right med I have returned to work. Know there are meds about there that help you cope with this illness. We have been married 27 years this summer.

For me it took the right meds to allow me to do the therapy and hard work to change my thinking to match what God's truth says to allow me to return to work.

Praying that you will rapidly find the right treatment, that the GCM outcome will be within God's will for your life. That God will lead guide and comfort you through this process! There truly is hope with this illness!

PS my manias turned into horrible rages where I did things that were so inconsistent with who I am. . .

the horrible rages i get my 1 (for certain) manic episode caused me to go AWOL. hence the trouble i may soon be in. i know that this is all in God's hands but its reallllllllllllly hard to hold on to that belief sometimes. :/ I thank you for all your Prayers. My wife is and always has been my Strongest line of Support. the crappy thing is, is that due to my troubles, i am currentyly stationed 300miles away from her and only get to see her twice a month.
