You could try some of the following...
On your forum page:
Your meta keywords contain words that promote the script you are using instead of your photography forum. Is that part of the agreement with the script provider? If not, I'd take out those words and add in a couple more of your own.
Your meta description contains your title. You could beef it up by making it a bit longer, and adding more keywords in it.
If possible, put in a small block of text at the top of your forum, describing your forum, also containing keywords.
You could also add a couple of subforums, black & white, for instance, landscape, portraits, etc. and start some threads to get people talking. Post some photos not posted elsewhere on your site for feedback, whether they should be included or not.
Put up some photos on free photo album sites like flickr or photobucket and link back to your site in your profile. You can point out your website to anyone you meet through these places.
On your main page:
Your links don't stand out very well... not nearly as brightly as the blue text on white background in the middle table cell.
The thing that most captured my attention about your site was the
beautiful image at the top of the main page of the tiger and sunset. I don't know what your skills are for website design... are you using a template? If it were my site I would create a table with a one pixel black border, that image on the top, and have all your information below. I would make the links stand out the most and use several of your best photos, but smaller in size in the middle, like on your photo gallery page, which looks great btw.
I'm really not trying to criticize what you've done. I did web design for a few years. I just want to give you practical advice. You've got a great concept

I hope you do well!
