Needing Someone to Talk To......

I've just put my little one to sleep and so I can allow to let my guard down and feel plain low. I've laughed and joked with my baby whilst inside I just wanted to lie on my bed with the quilt over my head.

I've been battling with an anxiety attack since early evening but am to the point now where I'm ready to lay down and cry.

Was just wondering if there was anyone who just wanted to chat, to try to take my mind off this crippling feeling.

I just wanted to update this thread to say thank you for those of you who prayed for me on reading the first post.

The tightness in my chest is going away and I am feeling much calmer now.

I don't know the source of the pain, but letting yourself cry is okay, sometimes that helps a little bit to just let it out. I'm glad you're feeling better and prayers

Hi Rocklife,

It's stress related to do with my job and I just can't seem to balance work with home obligations. In the last 3 weeks I've been experiencing panic attacks to the point that I've been signed off by my doctor.

I guess I had one of these earlier which resulted in a great sense of anxiety and chest pains. For some reason I couldn't seem to cry tonight which tended to relieve the pressure previously.

Thank G-d the prayers seemed to do the trick though.

Are you on any medication?I've gotten attacks so bad i couldn't leave the house, or be left alone.The only thing that seems to help is medicine.Chuck.

Hi Amin,

Yep on week 4 with the medication. This is the first time I'm on any medication but then this was the first experience I've had of any kind of panic attack.

Panic attacks are something i don't think anyone should have to go thru.

It does make you feel down when you think you think of the attacks and how uncomfortable they are.

It's miserable.

But guess what?
It can get better, and so can you.

Things will ease up, I know they will.

I've had anxiety attacks so bad I had to be taken to the hospital.

When i got home, I didn't want to be alone for almost 6 weeks.

I know how they can be.

I am thankful that for two days now I've not felt the attacks as badly as last week. I pray that it's a sign that I may be coming through this albeit slowly (just had another bout of tears this morning).

Please keep me in your prayers as I truly believe that this kind of support has gotten me this far.

I was on the phone to another church member this morning who is now retired. She went through the same thing as what I'm going through now right down to us both sharing the same profession. It was so good to talk to her - we both brought a lot of comfort to each other.
