Need your prayers please

I am in the process of finding a new counselor but it means going back to a psychatrist that once took me off my meds. I am on disability and options are kind of limited. I really have no choice but to take this step as me and my present counselor don't see eye to eye. When he took me off my meds it was early in my diagnoisis of BP, but it landed me in the hospital 3 times. I have been very stable for over 2 years now and I know it is largely due to the meds I am on. I am scared to death he will take me off my meds again and land me hospital. So please be praying about this and for that Doctor....Thanks and God Bless!!

Oh, how scary. I think you should stand your ground w/ the new/old doctor and tell him how happy you are with your meds and you'd like not to change. You should be okay.

I will be praying for you. A good counselor is so important in our staying stable as well as the meds. They help us deal with our daily stressors and learn new coping methods. I'll pray your doc doesn't try to take you off your meds and that he/she recognizes how they have helped you become stable. God Bless you and Hold Tight to Jesus.

I guess I want to say that nobody knows you better than you! If you need to convince your Doctor then often journaling the details of each day is a good way. Summarize for yourself how things are going and present it to them. Is your long term goal to be off meds? Do you think it is possible to be off meds? Will your doctor give you a strategy and reason for getting off meds? Is there a detailed plan including some key indicators that would determine if either to reintroduce meds, or continue getting off them, depending on how things go?

I pray for you, and your doctor that the two of you can have very open dialog on this matter, and that you can assert your will. Carefully and cautiosly of course.

Me and my present Dr have a good working relationship, and he allows me to have an input on my medications. I am going to be going to a new place for my counselor and thought I would have to change Dr.'s but they will just ship my records back and forth. So do a jig before the Lord!!!!...lol....Cause he heard our prayers and answered!!

Me and my present Dr have a good working relationship, and he allows me to have an input on my medications. I am going to be going to a new place for my counselor and thought I would have to change Dr.'s but they will just ship my records back and forth. So do a jig before the Lord!!!!...lol....Cause he heard our prayers and answered!!
