The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you're anything like me, you know and understand your Bi-Polar. This could certainly prove to be a triggering mechanism, but you also know that those are always temporary states.
My thoughts are certainly with you and your wife during what seems to be a very difficult time.

Debi is home now all safe and sound. She ended up having for seizures for them and found out she is not a canidate for surgery. So we will just have to continue addressing her seizures with medication.
As for me I handled everything with flying colors!!!

Yes he did handle everything with flying colors and I could not have been happier. My old Man is the best there is no if ands or buts about it
The doctor was able to tell me that he is almost sure that from my movements and things that my seizures come from the front right lobe of my brain, but, at the same time he isn't sure and the EEG wasn't conclusive enough for him. So, he will not do surgery on me unless he has some clear cut results to show where it is coming from...
The only thing I have left is to get my hands on an older test that was done years ago and then maybe he will change his mind.
They ended up having to take me off all my meds while I was there including my Bi-Polar meds too, because my Bi-Polar meds act also as a seizure med, and they took me off all of my anti-anxiety meds as well. So, Rush and I had a couple of fights while I was in there. I am so glad that I am home and back on my meds for right now....
The doctor, even if he was going to do surgery was going to put me back on at least those two meds again, but since no sugery will be taking place then I am going back on all four of my meds. The two that are exclusively seizure meds and the other two that are seizure meds and Bi-Polar/anti-anxiety meds as well.
Once I got the meds low enough in my system I had 4 Grand Mal seizures for them, so they cannot say I did not give them enough data. I did that in the space of twelve hours. Mind you this is twelve hours I cannot remember too clearly either, only bits and pieces and that was something new to me. I don't think I have ever lost such huge blocks of time before from my seizures, but then again I have always had some meds in my system. Even the last time I had one of these done to me I tapered off meds at home before going in for a 48 hr EEG and then as soon as they got the leads on my head (seriously, as soon as they finished attaching them) I went into a seizure, I was not even in my room yet. Praise the Lord I was hooked up to the machine!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the love and support that you gave to Rushingwind and Me .... I know that I could not have gotten through it all without it .....
I was supposed to recieve communion while I was in the hospital but the lay ministers never came to my room to distribute it so all I had was your prayers.... and those from the people that posted in my thread in OBOB too. What I would have done without all the prayer support I do not know. It was a tremendous soother to my soul to know that all were here praying for me and my husband too that we get through this together....
If any of you need us for anything please let us know we will be more than happy to help you in anyway that we can. It is the least we can do, for all of you.....

I am so thankful to hear that the test went well. I will pray that you can get the older test and know for sure whether the surgery is an option or not. And that you will return quickly to stability on your meds, for I know what a heartbreak it is to have a fight, usually over something dumb Blessings on your day!!!

Glad to hear that you are home safe and sound. I have been checking back to see how you were. I pray that you will be able to find those tests from years ago and that it would help the Dr now to see what is best for you. Take care of yourself.
