Need to make better decisions

Hey fam!
Please pray for me, went through very painful divorce. Thought I was doing well and strong in my walk but I have been hanging out with unbelievers and sort of realizing I have way more emotional damage and pain than I thought and have been telling myself.

not fair to my new friends, need to be careful I’m not influenced by them, need to show them Jesus and not be a hypocrite. Please pray! I sort of know what to do but I’m so lonely it’s really hard to give up these people because I get validation and I really enjoy being friends with them. However I feel like even though I’m doing OK now As far as not sinning along with them, the Bible is pretty clear on this type of thing. If I was stronger and not so jacked up emotionally maybe I could be a better light but right now I’m a mess.

I am sorry for your pain and loneliness. You have asked for help in making better decissions.
Your first point of contact should be your church.

You know that hanging out in a bar with non believers is not going to end well.

If you have had to change churches, get involved to get to know people, make friends there..
To occupy those long evenings start a correspondence course, or volunteer to help a prison ministry.
They often run a correspondence course for interested prisioners and they always need people willing to mark theses courses and correspond with the prisoners.

Christ knew we would need help, and He says to us the perfect prayer for this help we need, for each of us to pray each day. We can pray it with total faith it will all be granted, knowing what we should pray for, the words from Christ --

verses 9-13:
Matthew 6 NIV

It's so wonderful to take refuge in Christ as He says, to come and listen to His words to us, to learn from Him, the words He spoke in the gospels, for us to listen to and hear and be helped and rescued and healed with --

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

You are totally right well I reached out to a good brother for accountability and so I’m not hiding things and we gonna talk every day or two. My dad is my pastor so awkward...

also you totally nailed it LOL bars are not good even though I don’t get drunk I need to not be around the environment.

Brother, Go to a church, and find fellowship. Remember your time on this earth is short, sitting around with unbelievers partaking in there practices because you feel validation is wrong. Unless you are showing them Jesus and reading scripture to them, and calling them unto repentance, you will eventually start to partake in their deeds. I tell you thins because this has happened to me in the past. My hope and prayer is that you can find a solid church to hold you accountable, and use your time wisely.

I currently attend 2 churches and love them and the people there.

I need to spend My time with my church friends. I need to spend my time with like minded not people of the world. I know what’s right just hard to do it rn because placebo affect of having a person care about me. We are not spiritually compatible at all these people are opposite.

Praying for my wants to change has sure been helpful to me. What also has helped is to remember that Messiah said to keep on knocking and keep on praying. What has been typical for me is that I may ask for peace, or a change of want to, or whatever. Then, usually not right away, but maybe the next day I notice the change I prayed for. But! You know we have an enemy who comes against us to steal what we have received, plus we are inherently weak nature. So later down the road I have to pray again. And then another time, again. Etc.

Update, Turned the ship a bit! Things are moving back in the right direction but not there yet thank you for your prayer! It’s only jesus
