• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

( I wanted to post this post from a 14 year old girl (newbie) over on the non-christian struugles board because I think some of you could offer some real help and wisdom. Look for the thread that says Sexual Assault. Her board name is Tearsunsean, post #248, thank you. Here is her post, please respond on that board to be able to post to her)

Wow!

I didn't expect to find a thead talking about this. Its always been a secret, something to run and hide from until..It finds ya somehow. No move is far enough. No new life good enough to make it GO AWAY!

I don't know when it began. Only that it continued until I ran away.. then seemed to come again with a new faces but the same hurt over and over again. They seem to see it and run to me. Am I marked.. How does it always happen again?

I have been bad really. I cut myself sometimes.. to take the pain away. ( does that even make sence?)

I don't know when I gave up fighting! I hate my life! There is always someone to continue where the last left off. I hide in my house, doors locked. Afraid to go out.

Is this a life at all? How does it get better?

I've said too much.

You know, I don't really know how to get around this place yet. But I would really like to talk to her. The same thing has happened to me, and I reacted the same way. I turned to knives and blades. Some times I even burned my self. This has happened like four times over the years. There has even came a time when I wanted to die. I would like you to pm me, or have her contact me if it is at all possible.
God Bless in the highest respect. Jennie

Hello Tearsunsean,

I do not know if you know the story about Joseph and how his brothers used him and sold him into slavery but the Lord had touched him greatly. Here is what the Lord did for Joseph.

Gen 41:51-52

51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
KJV

Or even what the Lord did for Job.

Job 11:16-20

16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
KJV
