Need Some Prayer

Hey ladies! I really need to ask that you pray for me over the weekend! I went to my regular OB visit today and my blood pressure was a bit high. The first time she took it the top number was 149, the bottom number was fine. She made me go lay down on my left side then took it after a few mins and the top number was in the mid 130's. The last time I was there the top number was 125 or something. So she told me to take it easy over the weekend and then I have to go back in on Tuesday to have it checked again. It was pretty scary hearing her talk about preeclampsia and how if I had it she might have to deliver the baby early. Hopefully it was a fluke thing and we find that things are just fine on Tuesday. Please just keep me in your prayers!

Has anyone gone through this themselves?

I haven't gone through it myself, but a few people i know have had to have their babies early- one at 34 weeks i think and the other was a few weeks early. My friend had high BP but it was only at the very end so she was okay. Try not to stress about it, that won't help. I'll be praying for you.

Hey, I went through the same thing and was fine (high blood pressure). Were you nervous or stressed or even a little worried about something? My blood pressure is normally in the low 130s...they told me that blood pressure is normally higher than usual during pregnancy but as long as the top number is below 140 you're normally fine.

One time I was sooo stressed about something (the post office lady yelled at me ) and my blood pressure was 149/119 which was REALLY high and the nurse freaked out. She took it again a few minutes later and it had dropped to 130/70 which is normal for me and the nurse said that was fine.

Make sure you drink lots of water this weekend and try to stay as calm and un-stressed as possible. I know your living situation is kind of sucky right now but I'm praying for you and hopefully you'll have a nice relaxing weekend for when you have to go get it checked again.

Even if you're worried about it being high again can make it high, so just try to relax and think happy thoughts when they take it again

I went through it w/ my first kiddo. Mine top number was around 140's but got as high as 180 once. They almost kept me in the hospital. It came down once I was relaxed.
Don't eat too much sodium as that often raises it!
I was on bed rest for 3 weeks or so...during my 7th month

Praying...and as the others have said- it's very often just a fluke resulting from circumstances.

They put me in the hospital for a night for the same thing. They took my blood pressure almost hourly and measured my urine and the protein in it. I was "borederline preeclampsia" (according to my OB) and they told me to stay on bed rest for a few days. after a few days off of my feet I was fine..and my mom and MIL cleaned my house I'm sure you'll be fine..try not to worry..trust me I know it's hard not to, but it'll help keep your BP down.

I will be praying for you. I developed preeclampsia postpartum after my DD was born (I was also 2 weeks overdue). We were home for one night and then I had to go back to the hospital for a couple of days. My BP was around 165/100 or so. It was scary but they took good care of me and I had to take some beta blockers for a couple of weeks after that. It is great that they are keeping a watch on you, in fact I am being induced in the morning just so it isn't an issue in this pregnancy. So far my BP has been low and great! (38 weeks 3 days) Just make sure you are resting, it helps alot.

I was monitored with my second and third pregnancy for high blood pressure. It was weird. I'm one of those people who is almost dead with a low heart rate and bp normally but when I'm pregnant wow.

Thank you ladies for your prayers and encouragement! I wasn't feeling to well last night and everyone suggested I go get my blood pressure checked so my mom and husband checked it. It was completely normal according to their reading and they both got the same. So hopefully things are fine. I go back to my OB tomorrow so I'll update then but I have a good feeling about things. Hopefully we'll be approaching new years and I'm still waiting .

The appointment went well. My BP was 128/70 and there was no protein in my urine. She still wants me to take things easy, she said no nesting for me . It was good though to hear that baby and I are healthy! I am having some issues with swelling though, this morning my family said my face appeared to be more swollen than normal, it doesn't seem much different just a tad around my cheeks and eyes. I'm sure it's just normal pregnancy swelling though because like I said my BP was normal and I have no protein in my urine so I don't think it could be anything else.

Did anyone else notice a bit more puffiness in your cheeks in your mid-third trimester?

I never had swelling but all the other pregnant or recently pregnant women I know did.
