  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Need prayer for several things:

(1) I'd say I need a job but what I really need is a whole new career. Don't mind making the change but I figure it means I will need to go back to school. I'm not exactly young and I haven't exactly had good career success as a result of my previous educational efforts. Two of my four degrees - including a terminal professional degree - no longer are offered by the institutions that awarded them. That also means there is no career placement support. Never was for that terminal professional degree. I've been unemployed for some time and have determined that I will not in the forseeable future find work either in my previous career or in an entry level position which would premit me to change careers. Traditional employment does not seem to be in my future. I figure whatever I do I'll end up self-employed. That presents its own challenges - start-up capital, health care, location, product development, successful marketing, etc. I'm thinking of taking my ten years of college and enrolling in a bench jeweler program at a technical college. If I enroll full-time this fall I should be able to complete the program in December of next year. I need some real direction regarding this choice.

(2) There is a local jewelry artist/hobbyist who is fairly well connected within that community. Someone I am required to work with in a local community group. This person is very insecure and highly competitive (and a heavy drinker) and has a long history of getting to know people then trashing them within the art community behind their back. I've seen the pattern repeated several times. I've tried to keep my distance but suspect that I too have been targeted. Perhaps I should be flattered. Still, I'd prefer to avoid this kind of nonsense - and I'd like to be protected against any portential negative consequences of such behavior.

(3) I need wisdom in managing my finances - and I am concerned about the possibility that I might require medical care. My insurance carries a $10,000 deductible with a co-pay - and I feel fortunate to be able to afford even that.

(4) I have aging family members who live in another state just a couple of hours away. I believe in a few short years I will be required to relocate to help care for them (the rest of the family is there). I don't mind doing that but it is relevant to both the career and financial aspects that I am currently trying to address.

(5) I have two small aging doggies that are not in good health. One has kidney disease - and is doing quite well. This little guy is just a pleasure. The other is in early stage congestive heart failure. He is a kind and gentle soul. I have been privileged to have their companionship and honored to care for them. Not sure how to pray for these little guys.

Sorry for being so lengthy. Thank you for your prayers.

May The Lord give you clear guidence, open the right doors before you, and walk with you, behind you, and before you as you walk the path He has for you. May He hear all the requests of your heart; and enable you to hear His voice, and to respond in faith.
