  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

During my time in public school, even Christian school, I have done very poorly. The main reason is that I cant bring myself to do homework. It seems like there is a block that I cant seem to get around....it is very strange. Sometimes I excel in my class, but most of the time my grade is very sub-par. As a result, I have a very low amount of credits, approximately half of what I need to graduate. I am a Junior. I need to take summer school this summer if I want to graduate on time. The thing is, I think it may be a more wise use of my time and money if I just get my GED and go on to community college. If I do decide to go on to get my diploma, it is pretty likely that I will have to go through the 5-year "plan". I need some prayer that God will lead me to do the right thing....I dont really want to go through more school than I need to, but I would still like to get my diploma. The situation seems pretty hopeless as it is, so I really need some guidance. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Andrew--nothing is hopeless with God. I am praying for you. A member of my family was so bored with school and homework that he barely squeeked through high school, later he went on to become an engineer. My own brother found no interest in school either. He goofed off and his grades were poor. He went into the Navy, then to community college to up his grades, then to Wayne State University Law School where he graduated third in his class. He was a public defender, a prosecutor, and then became a member of the State Attorney General's law staff. Don't give up Andrew. Give your life to God and He will guide your paths. Whatever God wants you to do will be best.

Andrew,
I hope that you do whatever you have to to graduate with your class. If it be summer school, make that sacrifice. Down the road it will be a distant memory, but you will be rewarded, and you'll feel good about the extra effort, and feel good about graduating with your class. If you go for your GED, then the world will not explode!
Do what comes first, and the money will follow. You can get financial aid when you further your education. Sometimes, we just have to "jump through the hoops'. School is a lot like this, as are many things in life.
You will be in my prayers. :prayer:
 May His Spirit guide you to truth, and unblock your path, and may HE give you strength and perseverence
 Andrew

Amen to that!
