Yesterday I drove 40 minutes from one part of town to the next. In rush hour..!! So add some time for that in long lines at lights.
It was a 38 minute [google maps] to cross over the city.
I went to a less wealthy area, fwiw.
As I pulled up and parked, I get a call from DoorDash asking where I was the customer was asking on the other line.
(first time) and I was outside her door.
1. You always get the route info on the app when someone picks it up so you know where they are.
2. I was offered $12 to go the distance.
3. There is such a thing in the industry called tip baiting.
4. I ended up with $6.75 so I lost money delivering it.
5. The company should have 1st checked the route distance before allowing her to deduct.
No, the customer is not always right.
They should have expected the time. They have the info on where I am at all times on the app.
The complaint occurred exactly as I got there.
People like this make other people quit or get a bad report on their account. AND lose money for gas, oils, car repairs.
[It is not worth it and soon enough nobody will want to do it]
If you cannot 'wait' or 'afford' the service, don't use it.
It is absolutely unfair to a driver who has a lot to pay to deliver it.
I put this down as theft. Lord forgive her.
And the company should side with the driver.... but they don't and people lose money and the company advertises you could make up to $25 an hour.
But that never happens. Or seldom.
Most of the time I get stupid $6 or $7 deliveries and make $10 an hour or so because distance.
I try to take the best but you can sit there til one comes through.
I use all the apps and Uber is the worst. The worst pay, the worst distances.
My cars go bad. In fact my car broke down 4 times and .... I lost my car again and now borrowing my sons, because an axle went out or CV joint and I am waiting to see the 'said bill' for that.
The police had it towed to a guy who charges $200 the first day, and $55 after and to fix it, well $100 an hour.
sigh
So I prefer any cheese possible.
Sharp cheddar... maybe.. for my mood.
