Praying for them Lori! I know it has to be frustrating! Don't they have a deed that proves ownership?
yes, they do~ they have all the papers to the driveway, the property, the log cabin they built by hand.
what started the whole mess was the neighbor put on a 'nice guy' act to get them to sell a small piece of land from their property, and soon after that, his personality changed.
they wanted to sell their house, but in order for the house to be in tip-top shape, they had to get permits from the county to fix it up for the market.
turns out that the guy running the permit office stonewalled them, froze their account, broke the previous contract they had with the country before he took over, and told them they can't set foot in HIS office. they've been without electricity since July 2005!
and it also turns out that the neighbor is possibly linked to the permit guy, and the neighbor's wife used to work for the sheriff's dept, is now working for a lawyer who represented the neighbor and had repeatedly lied to the court to get Ann and Terry off their property.
what's sooo frustrating is that Ann and Terry were practically jumping thru legal hoops to get their house fixed up, and 3 times the judges would tell them to get it fixed up in 30 day, and if not, they had to move out---and here this neighbor and his wife used the law to commit attempted murder, harassment, menacing, lying and stealing.
what's amazing is that Ann is using this situation saying that there is a silver lining: that it builds character, and she's letting go of this whole thing. But she feels like God is telling her that this neighbor won't get what he wants in the end.
But for now--all I'm concerned is that she and her hubby will have PEACE and PROTECTION during the move tomorrow. (Oct 19th)
