  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Need prayer, please!

My husband just told me something so sad, and I'm asking for your prayers. A man he works with has a sister who has MS. She has been suffering for several years and is completely immobile and bedridden. She can only take nutrition through a feeding tube, but she is apparently still lucid and able to communicate. And she has an 11 year old daughter. This man told Michael that about 2 days ago his sister refused to accept anything from the feeding tube any longer, and that he is abiding by her decision. Michael tried, gently, to suggest to his friend that while he understands wanting to respect her wishes, that her state of mind needs to be taken into account (she is also on anti-depressants)and essentially letting her starve to death isn't right. The friend didn't want to hear it, he said he has no faith left because of all this. Without nutrition she will not survive much longer. Please, please pray for this family. It's just so terrible, for all of them.

Peace be with you.

Sandy

I'll pray that they all be healed in any way that they need to be healed.

Thank you all so much. We are supposed to be going over to his house tomorrow for dinner and I just don't know how I'm going to get through it. I don't know him well at all, but I've talked to his wife a couple of times and she seems very nice. I just wish there was something I could do for them. I'm going to ask Father John tomorrow after Mass if he thinks there's anything I could maybe say or do to help. The sister isn't here in town, she's in a hospital up north, or I'd be tempted to go see her myself. :(
