  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I got a friend. Her name is Si Yun. I need your prayer for her. Firstly, she is a non-christian. Please help pray that her spiritual darkness will soon be over and that she will believe in Jesus, and that God will use me to show her the light.

Secondly, she just received her A level examination results and intend to go to USA to further her studies. She intend pursue a degree program in regard to social work there.
But she faces two main problems.
1)Finiancial problem
The degree program is costly. She needs finiancial help. Please pray that she will receive the scholarship she applied for.
2)Family's objection
Her parents object to her going. Conflicts arise within her family. Pray that her family's problem will be solved.

She insisted to go to USA over studying locally, not because she wanted to squander her family's money away, but because she wanted to learn more about the volunteer spirit.
She wanted to learn about ways to make more Singaporeans do volunteer works, and since USA is well known for voulntary works, she wanted to learn how USA cultivate such spirits.

I wanted her to go oversea, because I think her dream is noble, and because I think since USA is a christian-oriented country, she will get exposed to Christ there.

Eh? I didn't know that! I do know that a lot of nations criticize us for NOT doing much to help each other out! I know better, though :) America's cool! :D

But I do agree about not getting your hopes up - there are a LOT of Americans that take great pride in claiming to be Christians...and then take great care to do whatever else they want in their lives, regardless of what God thinks. Christianity becomes a "trend" sometimes and it's hard for Jesus Freaks to bear when we see the abuse God gets  I guess that comes with the territory though...and I will be praying!!
