  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need input,advice,prayer,anything !

Well,I am homeschooling my kids. My ex-husband has battled me all the way,and often have felt I had no support from anyone.Inspite of that,my kids have thrived. They had their placement tests last week,and they really did do awesome.Emily is ready for 3rd grade instead of only 2nd...Nathan shocked them with adding double digits and his beautiful handwritting. However...he's not reading yet.He knows the sounds and can blend sounds together,he just isn't reading.

I have 7 weeks to get him doing that. Or he will go to all day kindergarten next year.I already started both of my kids when they were 6,instead of 5,I don't want him to be a 7 year old in kindergarten. Does anyone have any advice ? I know about the hooked on phonics program,I just don't have the 300 dollars right now...I truly believe that God will answer our prayers ,and somehow I will get this done !

Hi Lori,
I want you to know that I am praying for you! I do not homeschool my daughter who is in kindergarten, but I know that many members here do homeschool and it is often such a great thing, to be there each step of the way...I will be praying for and with you on this! Best of luck to you and God Bless!

Hi Lori! God bless you for your efforts with your children. I know He will bless you and them and they will eventually be on both of their levels. I know with my daughter as she was beginning to learn to read, I'd read to her, using my finger to go along etc., and when she first started putting the sounds together etc she would use hers too, sounding out each letter putting an entire word together in NO time! Hope that helps in some small way. Keep up the good work! :clap:
