Personally parents are great, but if this girl is a christian she meets the only requirement set by God for a spouse. So if she is good enough for God then she is good enough for your parents. Dont worry how they react. The are your parents and they love you so they will love her. My GF is Porto Rican and I am the first in my family not to marry a white girl, but who cares. Just dont get involved in those carnival games that let you know what your kids are gonna look like. A face only a mother could love is all that I will say, but seriously. Marriage is between You, Your Spouse, and God. Keep it that way and you will be a success.

Give the folks maximum time to get accoustomed to the idea.

When people think about who their children will marry and what they grandchildren will be like, they envision people who look like themelves. That does not make them racists or unaccepting; it's just what they imagine. So the more time they have to readjust their thinking, the smoother things are likely to go.

I think this was in a TV show or a movie... an Asian/white couple were discusing their marriage and the white guy remembered how her family was quite cold if not downright hostile toward him until the wedding reception when her grandmother stood beside him, and held his hand, and talked to the whole family (in Korean) and at the end of her speech, they nodded and were far more accepting. "Yes," said his wife, "I remember, but what you didn't know was that she explaioned to the family that she agreed that it was awful that I was marrying you, but at least you weren't blonde."
