It reminds me of Eleanor Roosevelt's "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Chapter I: Norms Of Procedure In The Election Of Bishops And
Cardinals
"that they become partakers in the sins of others and sin mortally unless they strive diligently that those be promoted whom they judge the more worthy and useful to the Church, not moved by entreaties or human affection, or the solicitations of rivals, but because their merits speak for them."

5--8. Aurelius of Utica [1767] said: "Since the apostle says that we ought not to be partakers with the sins of other men, [1768] what else does he do but make himself partaker with the sins of other men, who holds communion with heretics without the baptism of the Church? And therefore I pronounce my judgment that heretics should be baptized, that they may receive remission of their sins, and so communion be allowed to them." [1769]

APPEAL OF CLERGYMEN OF EKATERINBURG DIOCESE
[Russion Orthodox]
And we do not defend the sins of the bishop, which like every person he has, and perhaps even more so. We all are guilty of some sins. But the power to judge belongs not to laity and not to priests...
There is the omniscient and almighty Lord, which will judge everyone, bishops and priests and each of us. Will you be able to answer Christ on the Day of Judgment ... What awaits such a "zealot for truth" in the life eternal?
For the Lord will judge us for them, for our deeds, and not for the sins of others. God, be merciful to us sinners!

Philippians 2:12 is related...
So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation with fear and trembling...
Um... I give up.
