My husband Myron is coming into the Church at Easter. I need help coming up with his name as he keeps putting it off. He is devoted to Mary and the Infant Jesus of Prague. Know of any male saints that share that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Laura
He can take the name Mary.

 My husband and I are coming into the Church also at Easter, but I dont know anything about a confirmation name, does everyone have this... It has not been mentioned to us. What and why is this for? Maybe they dont do that here?

Les

You do not have to have a confirmation name actually, you can use your baptismal name. I would believe that this would be the same all over the world...but I know it is this way in the states. It is a name of a saint that we choose to pattern our lives after or use as a saintly reminder of how we are striving to live our lives. In our diocese the Bishop will ask us what name we choose and confirms us in that name. Mine was supposed to be Francis...but back in the day, they told us that the girls had to choose a girls name and the boys a boys name...so at the last second, Sister John Marie stepped in and actually silenced me when I started saying my name and said that my name is Mary. Which is an honor to use the wonderful name of our Blessed Mother, but I chose Francis for many reasons and was denied that.

But you should talk to your RCIA director about this, maybe it is something done only in the states, I don't know.

Maybe he should choose Joseph as his patron saint.

Joseph loved the infant Jesus and his spouse, Mary, and was chosen by heaven to be the protector of the Holy Family. He is a prime example of Christian fatherhood.

 This is exactly what I would suggest!:holy:
And why...
