Hi brothers & sisters, I’ve recently had an epiphany about Jesus’ words in John 6:37-44 and I’m wondering if you could please help me to decide whether this is a biblical understanding of the passage or not. It appears to me that according to John 12:32 the drawing of The father mentioned in John 6:44 is no longer in effect and the drawing of The Father in this passage is in reference to during Christ’s ministry. I also believe that Jesus’ statement in verse 39 is likely also only in reference during His ministry and not after His ministry.

“This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭39‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

The reason I think this may be the case is due to Christ’s words during His prayer to The Father in John 17 where He speaks of how The Father had given the apostles to Him and how He lost none except for Judas.

My question is, would you say that Jesus’ words in John 6:37-44 are specifically about those who came to Him during His ministry and not about those who come to Him today?

Thank you in advance for your replies and God bless.

all three Persons of the Trinity act as one, since there is only one Divine Action.
Amen, They are of one divine will but what about the statements “all that The Father give to Me will come to Me and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out” and “This is the will of The Father that I should lose nothing but raise it up on the last day”? Would you say that these statements were made in reference to the time during His ministry only, or would you say that they still apply today? The reason I ask is because this seems to apply well with His followers during His ministry but not so much after His crucifixion where we begin to have passages that indicate that true believers can fall away from Christ. Also on the night that Jesus was arrested Jesus warned His 11 faithful apostles about the dangers of failing to abide in Him. I’m beginning to think that the timing of this message was an indication of what was to come after His crucifixion. What are your thoughts?
