Hi brothers & sisters, I’ve recently had an epiphany about Jesus’ words in John 6:37-44 and I’m wondering if you could please help me to decide whether this is a biblical understanding of the passage or not. It appears to me that according to John 12:32 the drawing of The father mentioned in John 6:44 is no longer in effect and the drawing of The Father in this passage is in reference to during Christ’s ministry. I also believe that Jesus’ statement in verse 39 is likely also only in reference during His ministry and not after His ministry.
“This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.”
John 6:39 NASB1995
The reason I think this may be the case is due to Christ’s words during His prayer to The Father in John 17 where He speaks of how The Father had given the apostles to Him and how He lost none except for Judas.
My question is, would you say that Jesus’ words in John 6:37-44 are specifically about those who came to Him during His ministry and not about those who come to Him today?
Thank you in advance for your replies and God bless.
