  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well for topics for Bible it's not so much as premeditating, and worrying how to come about with a good topic to speak about. Go to the Lord Almighty and ask for guidance in what He wants you to speak about. What you may want, and what He may want could be two different things.

If you go to a good Christian bookstore, or check online at www.christianbook.com they have many useful study guides. Some are really in depth and studying the scripture verse by verse and you can get them for any book of the Bible. Also they have topical studies concerning anger, lust, spiritual maturity, prayer and so on.

What me and some ladies from my church do, we find a book we agree on, all get one and usually one person leads it, we do the study for the week, then meet and discuss it. Some of the books last a few months, some longer, shorter. There is a huge variety out there. For my sunday school class we do the studies book by book, right now we are on 1 Timothy. You'll just have to look and see what you find.
