I'd like to point out a small spelling error and correct it. By 'GT3', you quite obviously meant 'GTA3'. A common mistake, yet it warrants correction nonetheless.

This is assuming, of course, that you didn't really think Gran Turismo could be called a game.

ja ive been playing nfs under on a x800, 1gb ram and a p4 3ghz and it does rock w2ith the lighting and car detail and all. Its hard though and the later levels usually take several attempts to win, after youve chosen the right car for the race that is.

Its a bit monotonous and the scenery doesnt change very much, not too mention the blocky appearance of walls, cars and turns.

the thing that turned me off of it, is the drift events are childs play... its far too easy (well the game is far too easy, i finished it in a day)
i like to set the car up, ie suspension, gear ratios, etc. (hence why i like the gran turismo series)

Need for Speed is a game for Racers. I enjoy the game. I don't get to play that often. My only problem is that you can't change cars. Underground.

I liked the FIRST Need for Speed, which was more of a car sim than a racing game; it was "slow", but it was actually pretty realistic, at least up through about 100mph. (I haven't been going enough faster to comment on how realistic it was at 200mph.) I don't generally like racing games that have arcade physics.

What's out there in games that have reasonably realistic physics, instead of arcade feel and glitz?

Two words. Gran. Turismo. And the new one's coming out soon. Whether you'll like it depends on whether or not by "reasonably realistic" you meant "as realistic as is humanly possible in a video game."

Only on PS2; I'm pretty sure they haven't made a PC version, but don't quote me on it. And, if you don't have a PS2, but you do have a PS1, the older Gran Turismos are both really good, as long as you can put up with the graphics.
