I liked the FIRST Need for Speed, which was more of a car sim than a racing game; it was "slow", but it was actually pretty realistic, at least up through about 100mph. (I haven't been going enough faster to comment on how realistic it was at 200mph.) I don't generally like racing games that have arcade physics.

What's out there in games that have reasonably realistic physics, instead of arcade feel and glitz?

Two words. Gran. Turismo. And the new one's coming out soon. Whether you'll like it depends on whether or not by "reasonably realistic" you meant "as realistic as is humanly possible in a video game." :)

Sounds interesting. What's it available for? :)

Only on PS2; I'm pretty sure they haven't made a PC version, but don't quote me on it. And, if you don't have a PS2, but you do have a PS1, the older Gran Turismos are both really good, as long as you can put up with the graphics.
