  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need Edgy, Energetic Workout Music (that doesn't have the F word every 30 seconds)

Hi!

I need to find really intense, energizing workout music. I am a long-distance runner and I'm trying to get back in shape. Right now I seem to be stuck with secular stuff and the lyrics are often totally lacking in decency. I like a strong clear beat, med to fast, and just... yeah... engaging and energizing. I have a total mix on my player so it's difficult to give secular examples (and I kind of don't want to admit to some of it!)

I like the Newsboys but I've exhausted their albums, and in any case they aren't quite what I'm looking for workout-wise.

I do NOT like Switchfoot, it's too slow and depressing (just my opinion, how I find it- hence not listening to it). I find DC Talk too chocolate-boxy. I have yet to find a woman artist that I enjoy.

THANKS

The Benjamin Gate would be my top recommendation for you. Ben Gate was an awesome band with a woman as the vocalist. Check them out.

Some others you may or may not like....
Day of Fire, Mourning September, Falling Up, Anberlin, Shawn McDonald, downhere, subseven

Check out Laing. His CD is available on iTunes (there were a couple of other online stores, but I don't know much about the stores themselves; I am familiar with iTunes, though). Definitely edgy. One of the few specifically Christian Industrial/Industrial Metal artists I've found. "Rain" is an awesome song.
