The op is spot on. The spirit behind the system and business of abortion is evil. That does not mean every woman who seeks an abortion has the mind set of an offering to moloch but through ignorance and deception that is exactly what is happening. I am totally amazed at the arguments of defense for this plague of death from people who should know better.

Considering they are atheists, I think it's safe to say they don't worship anybody.

Its actually not safe to say that considering that for alleged atheists Anton LaVey and his successors certainly put a lot of effort into rituals which make no sense in that context.

According to the best information I have, LaVeyan Satanism of the sort associated with this sign is a mystery religion like Scientology where the inner doctrines are not disclosed to the newly initiated.

Also LaVey ripped text off from Yazidi scriptures in the belief (a false belief, propagated by Muslims to justify persecuting the Yazidis, who have a close relationship with the Christians of Iraq and who sheltered Armenians from the Turks during the genocide in 1915) of devil worship.

On my "What happens when Roe v Wade is overturned" bingo card, conservatives driving desperate and hurting women to the satanic temple because they have no other options probably wasn't on it.

Perhaps some will view that characterization as unfair. I don't. And I think, as abortion access becomes more restrictive we're going to see a rise in in all kinds of problems. There aren't going to be fewer abortions. It's ultimately a hollow victory for the pro-life movement. The abortion-free utopia that some imagine isn't going to happen, which is why many of us have been speaking about addressing the root causes that lead to abortion. Abortion is a symptom of a deeper social malady. And merely making it illegal isn't going to address it. It's not going to save the lives of babies, and it's only going to hurt women.

This is like putting spikes on park benches thinking that's going to fix the problem with homelessness.

Respectfully I have to disagree. Overturning Roe v. Wade merely permits individual states to legislate on abortion, and in blue states like New Mexico abortion will doubtless remain legal.

However, everything we can do to make abortion more inconvenient and difficult to access will result in lives being saved. The rationale for doing this is literally the same rationale for employing basic screening for the purchase of firearms, etc.
