I have a fried who just gave her life back to the Lord. Her husband believes in Christ but is not living as a Christian. She asked me for advise and I don't know what to tell her. with thier current tax return money her husband plans on doing something with the money that would be against the Lord she feels. Should she take all the money and refuse to allow him to invest it? She has already expressed her disagriance with his decision and why God would be against it. Or Since it is both of thier money should she just warn him and pray against it? I told her to go to her pastor , but she does not feel confortable. What should I say?

MY DEAR SISTER IN CHRIST,

It is important for your friend to remember that as a Christian, she is to be in submission to her husband but, at the same time, not a party to his sins. Therefore, taking all the tax money and "refusing to allow him to invest it" is not an option. i would suggest that she take her half and use it for some Godly purpose, and allow him to do whatever with his half. Should he be unwilling to split the money, she should let it go and, as you say, pray that her husband would be led aright and no harm would come from what he chooses to do.
If your friend does not feel comfortable in talking about important things like this with her Pastor, perhaps she should find a Church with a Pastor she is comfortable with. Questions like this should always be discussed with whomever we are under the Spiritual Authority of!

IN CHRIST,
ephraim

Not knowing the situation the lady in question is in, I'd have to agree with ephraim on this in his reply. She should seriously look for a place where she is both comfortable talking about there things as well as being able to trust the person to whom she is talking and seeking council from. Prayer of course goes without saying and seeking Gods guidance for both of them.

peace to all

"Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear."
