  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello, I am new to Christian Forums :) I am 20 years old, and am from Canada.

We'll heres a bit of background info on why I'm here; I had a breakthrough the other night, and basically, I want to become a better person.

I was always very negative in life, also, I tend to swear when having conversations. I want to change this, I want to have a more positive attitude and kick swearing out of my vocab. If anyone has any advice on this, don't be shy and lemme know! This is the reason I am posting here.

Also, recently, I find that I do not enjoy drinking anymore. The after-effects, as well as the regrets are so not worth it. I've been clubbing sober for St-Patties, and I trully ask myself "is this me when I drink"? How would I cope or enjoy a night out, without the use of alcohol?

Thanks for reading this post! God bless

Don't forget to find friends who are okay with you not drinking. If they are really your friends, they won't force you to drink. If you can find Christians that a plus because you can party without having the pressure to drink. Welcome to Christian Forums!!!!

As a behavior specialist at a middle school, what I tell my students is don't try to stop the swearing altogether, just find a replacement for it. Same goes for any other negative behavior you want to change. Find "socially acceptable" replacement words and use those in place of the actual swear words. I have a sixth grader who now yells out "why the face?" which is 100 times better than the string of words he used to yell out. lol
