Okay, I've got a bit of a dilemma and need some advice! It's nothing heavy or serious, but it's a dilemma, nonetheless. I know this is rather off-topic from what we all usually discuss...but I just thought I'd post this here.
Most of you who know me, know that I subsitute teach for public school. Well, the other day, I received notification from the Spanish teacher at my son's middle school that she personally requested me in her classroom for 2 morning half days. (I speak Spanish fairly well and can carry out her lesson plans)... well.... my son caught "wind" of this news and is NOT happy. I am scheduled to teach the first 3 classes of the day and my son's class is the 3rd class of the day
My son is begging me to cancel these sub jobs because of his worry that other kids in the class may tease him later. He's almost 13 and I can understand his feelings and don't want to dismiss them... however, the school system states that if you are requestd for a job and accept the job and then cancel, HR gets notified and it doesn't look good. My son was so sweet to sit me down and discuss with me how humiliated he'd be if I follow through with this.
I've prayed about it and I trust the Lord will guide me (He's never failed to!) If I go ahead and teach these spanish classes, it could open the door for more opportunities for me with this teacher through the school year... yet my son is really not happy!
ADVICE????? LOL
