Im looking for a good quote from the bible about giving. Im giving my best friend a bible as a gift and was wondering if there was a good quote that i could maybe write on the first page. Its not a special ocasion or anythign its more like a "hey thanks for being there for me during all the hard times" gift. IF you know of any please let me know. Thanks

Here's one:

Psalms 119:16-18 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. 17 GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. 18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

well your gift is an expression of your appreciation to him.
""hey thanks for being there for me during all the hard times"

then thats what the quote should express.
i dont know where these scriptures are exactly but i could find them i you wanted me too later, or im sure someone else could. i just dont have a concordance or a bible with me.

"..but a faithful man who can find?"
"only a foolish man walks alone, for he will fall and there will be no one to pick him up"
sorry those arent perfect quotes.

but i myself would probly say

"...but a faithful man who can find?"
thankyou for being faithful,
thankyou for being there for me.
i appreciate you.

"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
Proverbs 27:17

The Value of a Friend
9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
11Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Proverbs 17:17

17:17 A friendloveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

About giving specifically:

Luke 6:38

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Or here's a nice one-a favorite of mine reminding of the future blessings of giving:

Ecclesiastes 11:1

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

(The underlined words take you to a lexicon. Not necessary here, but the software I'm using puts it in the copy/paste automatically.)

Proverbs 3:3-4 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

With this note, Really appreciate your faithfulness! You have surely won not only my favor, but God's!

Speaking of faithfulness...

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

You could say, Your friend is a good tree, bearing good fruit!

Faithfulness surely implies love...

John 13:34-35 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.

With this affirmation, Your life surely demonstrates that you are a disciple of Jesus!
