Need a DVD Ripping program

Anyone know of a good DVD ripping program that I can use to back up my DVDs to my harddrive? Preferably Id like it to be free but it thats not possible then less then $30 would be nice.

Well a free decent one is dvd shrink. You can google and find it any where.

One of the top listed programs is dvd clone. Use a program with it called any dvd.

For backing up DVDs, to DVD-RW, then DVD Shrink is the best program, but for backing up to your hard drive, I suggest ImTOO DVD Ripper. It is $35 and works very well.

Google "DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0" and download it. This program is so effective that Macrovision procured (read: muscled through lawsuits) the rights to it, which means they effectively took it both off the market and removed the author's rights to code and release future versons). But that doesn't mean you can't still find it.

Use this program to rip the files to your hard drive. In the process, it will get rid of CSS, Macrovision, region coding, and PUOs (prohibited user operations).

Next, google "CloneDVD2." I use this program to remove the menus from the ripped VOB files. You can then use it to burn the "cleaned up" DVD to a blank DVDR. If the source files are too big, use CloneDVD to make them a custom size (typically 4700MB) to fit on a DVDR. CloneDVD also allows you to remove subtitles and redundant or unnecessary audio streams, trailers, extras, things of that nature.

I highly recommend Apollo DVD Copy. Its $40 but it copies dvd's to your HDD in 20-4o minutes. It also can remove extra 'features'. You can get most DVD's down to 2-2.5GBs with out the menus and subtitles. Plus, with this program you can just reverse the process to burn it onto another DVD.
