• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does any one else have neck problems? I know this seems like such a trival issue, but sometimes it drives me crazy. Most of the time, it seems like my head is in the clouds, then, when that starts to hurt then I start to look down, then I have to look up again! UGH! When is it just going to level itself out? It seems easy to suggest to just look straight ahead, but sometimes I'm just so dead tired or 'out of it' that I just can't. Ya know. I suppose in time it will fix itself, but until then, any suggestions?

Yea that's exactly right mike4jesus. That is usually the case. I find myself looking down most of the time...kind of just following my footsteps or path to keep my mind from just, overloading or something...lol I don't know. That doesn't make much sense I guess. And yea, I have the same problem...I hear 'cracks' all the time but I know where that's coming from. It's usually my legs since I'm so tall. Not extremely tall, but just tall I guess. But as far as 'noises' from my head. No, I can't say that I have 'noises' that come from my head...I would call that 'hearing' (noises going into your head). However, I do often have a voice 'inside' my head. And yes, I do know the difference from my audible voice to my 'mental' voice, as I'm calling it. Often times the mental voice is silent...sometimes almost too silent...kind of hard to explain. Don't you just wish sometimes that the mental voice would just go away and leave you to your peace? lol It's not annoying, but at times, it can scare me and make me...fatigued. I don't know, I'm not making much sense. This is all just random observations I've made lately...that's all. Take care.

Wow, I've had problems with both of these myself. It helps to turn your head side-to-side and move your head around when you're driving or sitting behind a computer for too long. I actually have a muscle on the upper back of my neck on the right side that has a 'lump' where I pulled it somehow. All of this was caused from poor posture but at my age there's no real way to fix it so I have to deal with it or take a couple of ibuprofen when it starts to turn into a headache. That popping sound Mike spoke of has happened to me too while trying to go to sleep. I think it's just tension releasing from the vertabrae when you begin to relax. Stress definitely adds to this as I'm all too familiar with. :/
