  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Almost most of them is the same what they are talking about like...

"It's not your time yet." People who came back to life.

They are in a dark place that is very scary even the most bad person does not deserve it.

They see a light that is so beautiful that cannot describe a word.

They went to Heaven that they don't want to come back to earth anymore

and many...

In my opinion, some of them is real...some of them isn't, coz they want you to buy a book, I'm not saying that all who is selling a book about near death experience is fake but.. you know what I'm saying, some of them...

Your Thoughts please?

There has been a lot of research on people who claim an NDE and most of them never wrote a book about it. Unfortunately, the few people who have written of supposed adventures in the spirit world have attracted an unjustified amount of attention because of the books. However, I am with you when you say some are real (or at least don't seem to be easily disproved) and some are not...which pretty much sums up this this phenomenon. :)

Yes..your correct...some of it is really unbiblical, that's why it gives a confusion to the scripture.

But if you will search it in YouTube exactly "Near Death Experience"...they don't wanna tell Jesus, they are only telling God is light very beautiful...you know what i'm saying, I think the media is blocking them to not mention Jesus, so religion like muslim will not get offended

My thoughts? I had one and it was not like anyone described. Some of those people could be real but I don't know

It's quite personal but I will share:

I was in my bed and had a hard time breathing, the next thing I knew is that I was rising above my bed and I reached the ceiling and knew if I went past the ceiling I would not go to heaven. Then I was lowered into my body and woke up and suffice it to say I did not go back to sleep night. It was than I decided to follow Christ, no sinners prayer or anything like that more like CS Lewis I went to bed nothing and got out of bed a believer

I'm not sure about NDE's, but I've had an out of body experience. On one occasion I had the sensation I was floating above my body above my bed. I believe it was a form of sleep paralysis.

There is nothing like a "near death" experience anywhere in the Bible. Given the wide array of spiritual experiences, one would think it would be depicted if it were true.

In other religions, the line between the world of the living and the dead can be crossed to and fro. You can enter dream states and hunt with your ancestors, you can die and visit your grandchildren on special occasions as a spirit. This is not so in Christianity. The line between life and death is very black and white. Even Lazarus who was dead for several days seems to have no memory of anything that happened. Even if his spirit experienced something(whether in Paradise or Hades), his flesh brain had no recollection of it.

If even the resurrected have no memory of entering a spirit realm, why would we think a fully living person could experience it, and remember it in the flesh?

A possible example from scripture is 2 Cor 12:3. The Apostle Paul refers to a man (this third person referral to oneself was kind of common in those days when writing, as I understand it) who was taken up to the third heaven.
I’ve heard it suggested that he had this vision as an out of body experience when he was unconscious after being stoned (no jokes here, lol) in Lystra as described in Acts 14:19.

You're right, there are really some people who got experienced even in Dream, like an out of body experience.

There are some really verses in the Bible like that, that is really connected to a Near Death Experience. But this Near Death Experience Outcome should be Positive like should be Glorifying the Lord, instead of wordly desires.

A person isn't dead until they are unable to sustain their life by breathing on their own (without aid).

When a person dies their breath of life returns to God.

Luke 23:46
Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, "Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit." And when He had said this, He breathed His last.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (CEBA) before dust returns to the earth as it was before (created from) and the life-breath returns to God who gave it.

Genesis 3

19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your bread, until you return to the ground—because out of it were you taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”

Nobody goes to heaven or hell at earthly death .... they wait in the grave in a dormant unconscious state and will be resurrected either in the first (of the saved) or second resurrection.
(of the lost)

1st Thessalonians 4

15 By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep.

Ecclesiastes 9
5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, because the memory of them is forgotten.

When one is near death their bodies and/or their mind are not functioning as normal, therefore what is experienced at or during that time-frame are caused by the circumstance of being near death and should not be attributed to being supernatural.

God Bless.

I have heard that explanation also.

Personally, I am inclined to believe they are largely based on real experiences. According to what I have read, though, there are elements of the experiences that are mediated by human expectations. I think its noteworthy that in modern cultures, they tend to be more alike than in traditionalist cultures that are shaped heavily by religious expectations. For instance, the near death experience of Anita Moorjani, who was raised a nominal, largely irreligious Hindu in Hong Kong, was very similar to what many western people experience: a tunnel, a bright white light, feeling love and acceptance, meeting deceased relatives and friends., and being told it's not your time.
