• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anybody here experience nausea and pain after eating? GF is struggling with anorexia, and has been complaining of it. I don't think she felt that way before the eating disorder set it, so I'm pretty sure it's a consequence of eating so little. Will this go away on its own? Should she try smaller meals to get her stomach used to food again; or bigger, to stretch it back out to a normal size (if it has shrunk)? Does it need to be treated with something.

SHE should be seen by a DOCTOR!! FOR MEDICAL ADVICE!!!!!:thumbsup:but i think it all depends! If she was not eating at all before and for how long? What did she add back to her diet and how much? So that is really why she needs to see a doctor! This is why they get the big bucks!:D

I've not struggled with anorexia but have been in ED groups where people have. I am a recovering bulimic. I would suggest finding one, along with a medical doctor, to have her slowly get used to eating again. She will need support and help with getting acquainted. What she should eat and not eat, and how much. I think that it would help.
