The crib shows the traditional figures of Mary and St. Joseph with the Christ child (covered until Christmas), while nearby revellers at an inn are seated wearing face masks, with some holding vaccine certification documents.

ROME (LifeSiteNews) – The ancient Catholic Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, Rome, has set up a nativity in which some figurines wear masks and show their vaccination certificates, in a scene which has been dubbed “unnecessary nonsense.”

I agree, leave politics out of it ....It really takes away from the whole scene....It not only dominates the set it changes the entire mood if the scene.
The demons who do it do not care

Do we know what was the intention here? I cannot fathom that someone seriously created this in support of mandates and passports... It's quite cringey in that context. Now, if it was a form of satirical protest, then it would make more sense. Calls to mind depictions of saints in prison garb that we had back in Communism.
