Bah, finding out Naruto is coming to Cartoon Network is nothing good...it's been licensed by 4Kids. Now obviously with the horrible butchering of One Piece you just know that they're going to give Naruto a voice that does not match his character at all....edit out all the storyline that actually makes the story flow and of course edit out all "inappropriate" things in it. DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP THAT IT WILL BE ENJOYABLE!! Oh, and please remember the evilness of Zatch Bell and Rave Master...two of the worst things to happen to Cartoon Network in it's entire history. My opinion of course. I wish they would just rerun some of the older series and put them on Adult Swim to make them even more enjoyable. (An example would be Outlaw Star, one of the few good animes Cartoon Network has ever aired)

I just pray to God 4Kids doesn't license Bleach. No no...God FORBID it is.

Naruto has not been licensed by 4Kids. It has been liscensed by ShoPro Entertainment, which is affiliated with Viz.

I'm not saying that this automatically makes the english version good, but it doesn't make it automatically bad.

The dub probably will be bad on the scale of Gundam Seeds english track, but we do still have some hope.

I just wanted to clear that up.

I Have already seen a preview of it on a website a while ago.

Basically they have removed the following things - Harem no jutsu, all Jirayai based jokes ( looking at women bathing ) And they are removing Haku and Zabuza from the saga as they are considered ' to wierd ' because They think kids will be confused with Hakus cross dessing antics.
Also the techniques have stupid names, ' Kage Mane No jutsu ' ( Which is Shadow imatate ) is now called ' The technique of the dance with my shadow and me '
I mean what kind of horrible things will they do next?
I Cant imagine the horrible heavy metal sound track they will add to it

I have just learned that the Naruto Movie has been subbed by Dattebayo! YAY!! I am currently DLing it now, its 717MB so it's only feasible for broadband. However, I read in the interest to not make the file too huge, DB decided to cut a mini-movie at the beginning of the whole movie, so it is not totally complete. I don't know the storyline or how this mini-movie relates to the main plot of the movie.

Bah, Viz...4Kids....what's the difference...all they ever do is butcher anime here >_< I've never liked dubbing and I never will...but I'm not to partial to high girly voices in Japanese either...if I had my pick I would say talented actors playing the roles of the people instead of getting awful voice actors that never should have gotten into voice acting in the first place (seriously have you HEARD Luffy's voice in the dubbing? ARG IT'S HORRIBLE)

Now if the peoples at Cartoon Network were really thinking...they could send it to Adult Swim and keep most of the content instead of turning it into another evil anime that no one likes.

Well, his voice doesn't match the voice of...a...suit of armor...well, waht you might expect the voice of a suit of armor to be (which i would think would be a low resonating voice) but keep in mind that he's supposed to be a 14 year old kid. So his voice does sort of match his personality.

Back when I watched Poke'mon, Ash's voice didn't bug me at all, if anything it made him sound older than 10 years old.

I just went to the Sho Pro website, and all they had there was the press release that says they liscensed it. I continued looking through google and found a whole bunch of people gnashing their teeth saying how bad it's going to be, but with no proof.

If you want to tell everyone that you think it's going to be a sub-par dub, that's fine, I'll even agree with you.

Still, I think we need to calm down a little and wait a couple of months before some real information is released. Then we can all complain about how bad it is.

yeah Al's voice isn't supposed to sound like that of a suit of armor but its not supposed to sound dumb either...which is why i much prefer the subs because its the original and sounds a million times better than messed up american dubs

Well, like I've said, I don't much enjoy dubbing, but I am also not very partial to the high girlish voices of characters in Japan (ever hear Naruto?) it usually is nothing like the voice you would imagine them to have. That's probably the reason why I don't watch much anime, plus...the only anime which I have almost no problems with is Bleach (the only voice in Japanese that bugs me is Chad's...he's supposed to be really mature sounding and whatnot...but he sounds like a 40 year old man >_<)

Well yeah but still, I know a lot of 14 year olds that have a deep voice and whatnots... I mean it doesn't have to be low, I just hate that voice lol
