Hey All,

As some of you know I'm becoming a senior soldier at my corp. We (the youth team) is launching a new mission team where we are raising funds and organising a team of youth over to the phillipines to help over at Joyville. Basically it's a childrens home and we are putting in more funds to expand it so more kids can be taken off the streets. (This is seperate and different to Mission 1:8 that is currently over there)

By the sounds of it, it could get a bit large (such as *God willing* incorporating all the youth from South East Queensland) but we are aiming to draw several other corps. The idea is for us to take people over who may or may not be Christian and take them on a journey to see the heart of the gospel, in which we truly believe is with the poor and the oppressed. So it ends up being like a 2 way evangelism, showing the gospel to Aussie uni students, as well as helping the kids over there.

I'd just like some ideas for a name for the mission team.

At the moment the team that is running missions at our college is called the B-Team (Very original pft) so obviously we want something better!

Ideas, preferably with biblical backing would be great.

For example I like Mission 1:8 and <Insert Dodgy part of town> 614, but they are obviously taken.

Hey!

It's a good start Boaz...but just not very catchy...

I've had a bit of inspiration today though...reading an article on the Year of the Jubilee and how it was a sabbath of sabbaths and how God provided rest and restoration to Israel. Slaves were freed, etc etc, and how all this is ultimately is achieved through Christ.

The article then speaks about how the authority is given to man (as opposed to power - there's a difference) to in the name of Jesus to act. It was really inspiring to know that the Spirit is pushing us in the right direction on what he wants and that what we are aiming for is very biblical.

So I had chosen something to do with Jubilee and also Luke 4:18 in Jesus's own words he says what he came to do.

I don't know Jubilee 4:18 or Joyville 4:18 sounds okay but still needs a bit more work I reckon.

I'm sure we'll come up with something good soon.

also the particular article I was reading:
