My kids have some matchbox cars. At my parents house we have some that we used to play with as children....then of course my brother still has his collection!


What about Shrinky Dinks? Did anyone have them? I loved mine.....color and cut and put in the oven....oh the necklaces that we would make!

no I never had those, but there was something similar in a breakfast cereal box. I shrunk a few of those in the oven.

I'm not sure....maybe somewhere....I know we have a California raisin man...I think we got that out of a box! We would fight over who got the prize...(there were 6 of us kids...first come first serve)!

Did you ever save box tops so that you could order something off the box....
I have several bowls, spy ware, and a pillow! Oh how funny

no but we use to save tea box labels and send away for a prize.

It's funny how we keep thing, I still have a bag of plastic toy soldiers from cereal boxes that I cannot throw away.

yes....they were so cool and everyone wanted one.


What about getting a 10 speed bike? That was a big deal to get one of those (at least at my house it was!)

oh yeah,like you would not believe,still have my 10 speed bike down in the cellar and it's still in great shape. (a bluejean Huffy)

I remember walking by them...but that was one thing my parents never allowed nor did we have money for.....so I am not a big arcade fan....now my husband....loves them as do our kids......

Did you play a lot of board games growing up?

yes, chess, monopoly, scrabble, chinese checkers, trouble, we had lots of them.
We were not allowed to watch T.V very much so played games instead.

As soon as you said Chinese checkers.....that reminded me of many times playing that game! I would say out of those that you listed that is my favorite!

Yes, they are not in mint condition though. I gave them to my son years ago. He is 10 now

some of mine went to my boys to play with also, but I kept my collection to give them later.

when my boys were young I played for fun and let them win. Now it's for blood and the win because winning for me is rare!

I ate brussel sprouts as a kid but not now! My kids eat most things but don't like brussel sprouts either.
