I changed my username to Luin. It is short for Luinilote. It is a name I was given when I was roleplaying as a Tolkien elf.

Only a language change, right? Same meaning? In the Quenya...I changed my username to Luin. It is short for Luinilote. It is a name I was given when I was roleplaying as a Tolkien elf.
Exactly Shoetoyou!Only a language change, right? Same meaning? In the Quenya...
Partially an educated guess.Exactly Shoetoyou! How did you know that?
You are completely rightPartially an educated guess.
I have loved Tolkien for almost 40 years, recognized the Luin as “blue”, assumed the lote comes from the same root as Lothlorien “the dreamflower”, so put two and two together... blue flower = bluerose...
The Elvish is pretty, Luinilote..
Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo! You are completely righthugs!

"A star shines on the hour of our meeting". Is that correct?Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo!
Yep. Taken directly from The Lord of the Rings. I can’t really claim to speak Elvish, but it’s fun to try."A star shines on the hour of our meeting". Is that correct?Beautiful Elvish

Lovely! It is fun to speak Elvish, I agree. Have you seen The Lord of the Rings movies? I felt they were really beautiful. What did you think?Yep. Taken directly from The Lord of the Rings. I can’t really claim to speak Elvish, but it’s fun to try.
I did see the movies, thought they were beautifully done, but was a little disappointed with a few changes from the books (but as one who has read the books at least 40 times, I have a preconceived idea of everything about them, and no movie could do it complete justice). I was very impressed with the quality of the production, though.Lovely! It is fun to speak Elvish, I agree. Have you seen The Lord of the Rings movies? I felt they were really beautiful. Wow! that is amazing that you have read the books at least 40 times. That's beautiful. They are amazing books. I am glad you did like the movies for the most part. The quality of the production was very good.I did see the movies, thought they were beautifully done, but was a little disappointed with a few changes from the books (but as one who has read the books at least 40 times, I have a preconceived idea of everything about them, and no movie could do it complete justice). There is so often a tension or at least a dichotomy between a books and its movie!I did see the movies, thought they were beautifully done, but was a little disappointed with a few changes from the books (but as one who has read the books at least 40 times, I have a preconceived idea of everything about them, and no movie could do it complete justice). Some books are so engaging that they lend themselves to being re-read over and over; while other readers who might in theory believe the same thing don't find them to be so at all.Wow! that is amazing that you have read the books at least 40 times. We are all different.
They are about US military and secret service and police life; the descriptions are so accurate, even if the language is unfortunately a little colorful at times (I guess this is accurate also).I have never read WED Griffin. It sounds like you love his works![]()

A lot of men are into military matters; some women are, some are not. It's probably the case that either one likes WEB Griffin or one does not. Even with me, there are some things I don't like about his books, but overall their descriptions and sense of inexorable process and tension-driven events are very well done.It sounds very interesting!
Very nice! It seems that people who are in the military or have a fascination with the military would do well to read his books.A lot of men are into military matters; some women are, some are not. Some women greatly appreciate the military and this is why some women would greatly appreciate WEB Griffin's works. (Some women are themselves in the military or follow military matters; and of course so many military spouses identify with the military, get patriotic tattoos, etc.) Overall it would be fair to say that WEB Griffin tends to be a man's author, but by no means restricted to men.
