CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didn't mean to sound judgmental about my Pastor. He definitely understands Scripture better than I do. He did go to school for it after all.
I think maybe I came off the wrong way. I think he might not have even thought of their situation because that even was so tragic he might not have seen the closing churches the way I saw them. Plus he has to write a sermon and everything else...its easier to slip his mind than mine. I cannot imagine the time he spends on planning and working. I doubt he meant to forget them in prayer. I don't even have a busy lifestyle and I don't always remember everyone I say I will.
ETA: Typing that out made me realize why he most likely did not think to add that in his prayers before the message. Duh. See? Shoulda just changed my name to Foot in mouth
