For your infomation Israel did no use El which is singular and was used for Baal. When you see the letters Adonai cap it was to replace YAHWEH. The Jews likse the leaders in the SDA Church invented doctrines and traditions that are not in the Bible.
The holy name of God should never be addressed irreverently. It is sad that you refuse to see that this is breaking the Commandment about HIS NAME. stinsonmarri
"The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower; the righteous run to it and are SAFE." (Prov 18:10)"Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in His apparel, traveling in the greatness of His strength?" Isaiah 63:1. With assurance comes the answer: "Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16.
"Being in the form of God," He "thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:6-11. {CT 262.2}
I am just quoting the Bible. I am not the one here who is quoting extra-Biblical sources for what I am posting.
It is so hard for SDA to understand the word ELOHIM because we have been indoctrinated in to a Hellenistic culture.
We must be able to voice why we believe and what we believe in decent and in order.
I would still like to know--What did Adam and Eve call God?? What did the angels and other worlds created long before Adam and Eve call God?? Were they all talking Hebrew before there were Jews? Is Hebrew then the universal, intergalactic Language of the universe??
After the flood, all spoke the same language, which God changed into many, was the language Hebrew? After the language mixed up, did God continue with the Hebrew language to a select few even though there still were no Jews? What did the people who's languages were confused call God? Did Abraham, the father of the Jews, speak Hebrew?
Please provide scripture with the answers, but you can just go ahead and say what you think also.
You know mmksparbud to me it is simple. If Satan changed the Sabbath which is Holy then he will change YAHWEH ELOHIM'S name. Why so we could become worshipers of his name instead of the correct ONES. The word Elohim is not mentioned or required anywhere in all these texts. If, for example, we try to substitute any of these preminent pronouns with the word Elohim, we make it impossible to know exactly who is being referred to in the text. The same will happen if we try to substitute the many names of God with the word Elohim.THE PREEMINENT PRONOUNS OF

The Bible has understanding for mankind and not for just one group or ethnic people. Before I give you Scriptures that are there the word god still does not relate to the words YAHWEH ELOHIM NAME. If HE is HOLY to Moses HE was the same to Adam, Seth, Noah, Abraham and to Moses. I just do not understand why it is so hard to realize went to Israel and was made to labor on the Sabbath as well as other things they forgot who YAHWEH was. As a historian I have learned that Abraham culture included the worship of YAHWEH and this Name and abbreviation of the name has been found before Moses. But to say that the word god in replace of HIS HOLY NAME is wrong and we know the truth about this word. Here first is an outside source as well as Scriptures because history back up the Word.
Oddly, the exact history of the word God is unknown. The word God is a relatively new European invention, which was never used in any of the ancient Judaeo-Christian scripture manuscripts that were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek or Latin.
According to the best efforts of linguists and researchers, the root of the present word God is the Sanskrit word hu which means to call upon, invoke, implore.
Nonetheless, it is also interesting to note the similarity to the ancient Persian word for God which is Khoda.
The following is a survey of some of the efforts of those who have been trying to decipher the ancient roots of the word God: Etymology of the Name God
India and Persia are both countries that worship using pagan names and we want to lower the ALMIGHTY with those names, I think not and neither should anyone who keep the Commandments!
And ELOHIM said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Ex 3:14 (I did not capitalize I AM THAT I AM that is written in the Bible and that is one of the reason I capitalize HIS NAME because it is HOLY. Every nation use the word god of the English language because it is not holy. They use it in profanity just like the Sabbath you cannot make any word from any language HIS NAME!
(DRB) ELOHIM said to Moses: I AM WHO AM. He said: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: HE WHO IS, hath sent me to you.
(AMP) And ELOHIM said to Moses, I AM Who I AM and What I AM, and I WILL BE What I WILL BE; and HE said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!
And ELOHIM said unto Moshe, EH-HEH-YEH ashair EHHEH- YEH (I AM WHO I AM); and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the Bnei Yisroel, EHHEH-YEH (I AM) hath sent me unto you.
“And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth. Ex 23:13 (Sacred Name Scripture+1998)
Sing unto Elohim, sing praises to His name: extol Him that rides upon the Heavens by His NAME YAH, and rejoice before Him. Psalm 68:4 (In English we use Halleluiah and if you understand English grammar structure that the letter "I" replaces the original letter "Y." so it is actually Hallelu-YAH! the only word even in our language does not change. The Hallelu in Hebrew means "Praise be to YAH.")
Thy Name O YAHWEH, endureth forever; Thy memorial, O YAHWEH, throughout all generations. Psalm 135:13 (Here is your answer and YAHWEH means SELFEXISTENT or ETERNAL according to the Strong Dictionary. The name endureth forever also it is memorial throughout generations. Generation in Hebrew means ages! It is the same universal and by it was said in the Hebrew it the same pronunciation in all languages.)
Who has established all the ends of the earth? What HIS NAME, and what is HIS SON'S NAME, if you know it? Proverbs 30:4
I AM YAHWEH that is My name: and My honor will I not give to another (NAME), neither My praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT: Matt 28:19 (The HOLY SPIRIT is not a ghost which is also pagan.)
But the HOLY SPIRIT will come and help you, because the FATHER will send the SPIRIT to take MY place. The SPIRIT will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you. John 14:26 Contemporary English Version(CEV)
I have manifested THY NAME unto the men which thou gavest ME out of the world: THINE they were, and THOU gavest them ME; and they have kept THY Word. John 17:6
You know mmksparbud to me it is simple. If Satan changed the Sabbath which is Holy then he will change YAHWEH ELOHIM'S name. Why so we could become worshipers of his name instead of the correct ONES. This Command came before the Sabbath to warn us that man would attempt to do this very act. The Jews started it when HE did not give them a command not to speak or read HIS NAME. They took it upon themselves to replace it with Lord that was used to call on Baal. YAHWEH never used el but ELOAH in the single form. Once again people tampered with the Holy Writ, but the truth will be discover and shown. It so strange to me that ELOHIM which is plural refers to THREE and not just one. So once again you have a cover up to It so strange to me that ELOHIM which is plural refers to THREE and not just one. So once again you have a cover up to disguise the truth. El mean mighty ones ELOHIM means ALMIGHTY ONES. So name here is the next unsound error and the truth is right in the meaning of the word. The word "one" in Hebrew means unity because the ELOHIM works together. Adventist believe that there are THREE individual BEINGS, but do they? The problem come with the word trinity over TRITHEISM I believe in the latter. We cannot discuss on the forum because of the rules. But I can say this Adventist actually teach the latter somewhat in their belief but uses the wrong word. The book on 27 beliefs states:
There is one God (huh)Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal (This does not make sense because the word person cannot be used for ELOHIM) Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He (If there is Three than how did we use this word. Explain) is infinite and beyond human comprehension, yet known through His self-revelation. He is forever worthy of worship, adoration, and service by the whole creation. (Who is the writer talking about the FATHER, the SON or the HOLY SPIRIT, which ONE?)
God the Father: God the eternal Father is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. (Now this does not make sense if all THREE Created?) He is just and holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The qualities and powers exhibited in the Son and the Holy Spirit are also revelations of the Father.
God the Son: God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, (Now this imply jus HE is the ONE who created) the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ.
God the Holy Spirit: God the eternal Spirit was active with the Father and the Son in Creation, (Now this makes sense that all THREE Created) incarnation, and redemption. He inspired the writers of Scripture. He filled Christ's life with power. He draws and convicts human beings; and those who respond He renews and transforms into the image of God.
Well this is my final texts for now:
1Jn 5:7 For there are THREE that bear record in Heaven, the FATHER, the WORD and the HOLY SPIRIT: and THESE THREE are ONE. 1Jn 5:7 (Unity like a husband and a wife seperate beings but through copulated they become one flesh! It is simple to me it takes them together to produce a child.)
How are they ONE well THEY showed us listen:
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Gen 2:24
The THREE are not stuck together but THEY are separate INDIVIUAL BEINGS THEY are not three persons or personalities!
Person (n.) early 13c., from O. Fr. persone "human being" (12c., Fr. personne), from L. persona "human being," originally "character in a drama, mask," possibly borrowed from Etruscan phersu "mask." This may be related to Gk. Persephone. The Online Etymology Dictionary
Trinity: The Christian doctrine of the Trinity defines God as three divine persons or hypostases. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is far as I go without breaking the rules on the trinity. I also want to apologize to you as I did with Castaway. I will not say smart unrespectable remarks to you anymore. Regardless of what you say or feel about me and what I present, I will just be kind and stay on point. Please forgive.
Praying that we will discuss all things in a kind and respectable manner.
Happy Sabbath and be bless also bless the President, stinsonmarri
Although I personally would have a little trouble using that particular name for God; I understand why people sometimes use it, so I have no real objections to it if it is done judiciously. Thanks for your contribution. Many at my church, myself included, often just call him Daddy.
You did state above that all you need is the Bible so I find this reference to be quite out of place, as well as not binding as in determination of Bible truth.Castaway:
Two things you should notice here that the lord is used for man so why use this same word for the MOST HIGH?
You will never hide the truth because it will always come out:
The numerous names for God have been a source of debate among biblical scholars. Elohim (god, or authority, plural form), El (mighty one), El Shaddai (almighty), Adonai (master), Elyon (highest), Avinu (our father), are regarded by many religious Jews not as names, but as titles highlighting different aspects of YHWH and the various 'roles' of God.
However other Jewish sources accept that the fact that there are various names of God used in the Hebrew Bible, and that Elohim is a plural word may suggest a polytheistic origin. Encyclopedia of Judaism
So, those who do not agree with you about the name/s to call God are 'removed from the gospel?" This is a perfect example of gross mis-use of scripture. You have no way of knowing that from just a few internet postings over the miles that separate us.Well if you believe that then I will end with Paul to you Castaway and I hope that someday that you will look not at me the person, but only the information that I presented and pray even for me please. I will not bother to answer anything else because it is all here and only the HOLY SPIRIT can leady any one to the truth. So I will turn it over to HIM but this is my testimony through Paul:
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from HIM that called you into the Grace of the MESSIAH unto another Gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of the MESSIAH. But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or ELOHIM? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of the MESSIAH. But I certify you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the Revelation of YAHSHUA the MESSIAH. For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of ELOHIM, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. Gal 1:6-14
To rotely replace "father" with "elohim" in the above quote would be very wrong, and would take away the Bible's meaning, context, and intent. It would deny us the privilege of knowing about that aspect of God which makes Him our heavenly Father. He is a personal God, and all the names I am posting allow us to have a personal relationship with Him, because through these, we can know Him; and it is eternal life to know Him. (John17:3).A Father God. Addressing Israel, Moses referred to God as their Father, who had redeemed them: "'Is He not your Father, who bought you?'" (Deu_32:6). Through redemption, God adopted Israel as His child. Isaiah wrote, "O Lord, you are our Father" (Isa_64:8; cf. Isa_63:16). Through Malachi, God affirmed, "'I am the Father'" (Mal_1:6). Elsewhere, Malachi relates God's fatherhood to His role as Creator: "Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us?" (Mal_2:10). God is our Father through both Creation and redemption. What a glorious truth! (taken from 27 Fundamental beliefs book)
