I believe the wound is to the political multiheaded beast, not an individual being.
so, a world system that fails...war...
the "image" could be a flag/standard...of the NWO beast nation.
the multiheaded seven heads of the dragon-beast, is likely to be the last beast kingdom, which was wounded but revived, as in Rome. I have never been very convinced that we are talking about an individual, who has his head wounded by a sword- daft. The image might be the rod of aschlepius of something similar (used now for medical), an emblem like a Roman standard, which people must 'worship' or give allegience to.

There is a multiplicity of fulfillments. Just because it is or will be fulfilled one way does not exclude the other fulfillments. The flag is one fulfillment of the image unto the beast.
The horses are the 2nd round of the 4 horsemen. Red is war, smoke (Black) is famine, brimstone (yellow) is death. Abaddon from the previous chapter, Trumpet 5, is the 2nd round false Christ.

Whenever I get confused about something from Revelations, I just try to figure out how Star Wars explains it.
Seriously. Most pop culture is explicitly designed by the ruling class to sculpt social behavior. And specifically to get people to worship Satan and the antichrist. And Star Wars is one aspect of that. Most comic books and sci-fi movies are based on Scientology principles (Battlestar Galactica is probably the most direct). Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis etc etc all follow Scientology. Alan Moore created "v for vendetta", it's no coincidence the Occupy Wallstreet protesters wear the v mask/ Guy fawkes mask - it's a Satanic ritual: they are "hypocrites", the original Greek meaning "actor" hence the mask.
Scientology appears to be the religion/ propaganda arm of the "illuminati"/ elites. And Star Wars is pure Satanism. There are "good guys" and "bad guys", and whoever has the might is right. The force is the "source" of magical powers, but the source is not God. It's like Taoism.
Anyway, here's how I see Star Wars and Revelations.
Luke is Lucifer/ the antichrist.
Darth Vader is what Christians would call "God". Since they don't believe in God, this character (Xenu/ Vader) is merely a very powerful man.
The Death Star is New Jerusalem.
C3PO is Satan. If you watch the classic movie Metropolis, you'll see a giant Satanic pentagram behind the robot creation. Angels have multiple meanings to Satanists. One understanding (blaspheming God) is that angels are "robots". They have no sex and are merely created assistants serving the master. God's first "created assistant" is Satan, a robot. In Star Wars, Darth Vader's first robotic creation is C3PO. So when Satan is cast down with his angels at the mid point of the Tribulation, you'll see an army of robots.
The Rebel Alliance is the Apostasy/ Great Falling away.
Tuscan raiders are Muslims. Jawas are Jews. The elites hate Jews, Muslims, and Christians (and minorities - Jar Jar Binks, anyone?). They want to get rid of Abrahamic religion.
The image of the beast is being encased in cryogenic freeze block.
The Sarlac pit in Return of the Jedi is the antichrist being sacrificed into the bottomless pit. The sarlac monster is a reference to a Cthulu type octopus/ squid/ Kraken monster that will be faked at the end of 2012. In science circles, it's been "discovered" that the jellyfish is the evolutionary 1st creature/ in other words "Satan" again.
Yoda is the New Age Maitreya Buddha. Although Yoda is a "little green man" (meaning a Martian alien reference) he is actually a subliminal reference to a grey alien. Maitreya is probably a grey. The thing here is that Maitreya is said to be a master of "time cycles". The elites have corrupted this to be that he is a time-traveller, from our evolutionary future. Humans have "evolved" into greys, in other words greys are not "aliens", they are "future humans".
Chewbacca is a reference to Bigfoot/ Yetis/ monkey men from Planet of the Apes. "God", in their made up storyline that they will try to get people to believe, is an ancient astronaut alien. This alien is a geneticist that caused our evolution- the bigfoot characters serve as "proof" of evolution. These yetis are "Gog" of Gog/ Magog from Muslim eschatology and vanaras of Hindu scriptures.
