In the Bible Jesus Christ claimed to be God
In the Koran, Mohammed clearly states that Jesus was not God.
They both can’t be right.
In Hinduism it is communicated that everything is part of God
But in the Koran, the Torah and the New Testament, God is the creator and you and I are part of the creation, They both cant be right.
Either everything is part of God or God is the creator.
In the Koran, if you follow the 5 pillars of Islam well enough,
maybe you’ll make it to heaven.
In the New Testament Jesus points out you will never make it to
heaven if you follow any code of ethics. Instead heaven is a gift
God offers to you by his grace, by his generous love towards you.
So im sorry you can’t have it both ways. You can’t have it that heaven is something you both earn and something that you can not earn but instead is a gift giving to you by God’s grace.
So when you bump into these contradictions, your going to have to start making decisions. Who do I trust to tell me the truth about God, who do I trust to tell me the truth about the way to heaven, who do I trust to tell me weather I can have 4 wives, 10 wives or 1 wife. Who do I trust to define for me the purpose of life, Eddie McGuire, Bert Newton….The Buddha, Jesus Christ?
See that’s why Jesus Christ has this embarrassing way of forcing you and me to make a decision, will we trust him or will we not.
There are three philosophical reasons why I don’t trust Mohammed…..First point…. you will notice that the miracle of Christianity is Jesus Christ and you don’t have to speak a particular language to hear about Jesus……The miracle of Islam is not a person, the miracle of Islam is the book, The Koran….
But when you begin to study Islam, what you begin to realize is, the only way you can truly appreciate the miracle of Islam is, by reading it in Arabic…..My philosophical problem with that is, why all of a sudden when God reveals himself wonderfully in an open way in Jesus, does he suddenly say, the only way to get my clearest revelation is to study Arabic.
My second Philosophical problem with Islam is….My Muslim friends inform me, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are inaccurate, there perverted gospels. So my next question is…Well where are the un perverted ones, unfortunately my Muslim friends can not produce the un perverted ones.
Instead what my Muslim friends ask me to believe is, that a revelation that Mohammed had 500 years after Jesus, which obviously means Mohammed never met Jesus. That, that book the Koran is a more accurate presentation of the historical Jesus then the Gospels written by the eye witnesses.
Well im sorry, whenever I want to study a historical person, I don’t go running to a guy that lived 500 years after the fact, I want to go to the eye witnesses. Im not gona trust Martin Scorsese to be the primary source of Jesus. Im gona go back to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John who lived in the first century, to be my primary source of information.
My third philosophical problem with Islam is. My Muslim friends have great respect for Jesus. In fact my Muslim friends respect Jesus far more then the typical Australian does. My Muslim friends believe Jesus was born of a virgin, that he ascended to heaven and that he is coming back a second time. Well that’s far more then the typical Australian believes about Jesus
But my Muslim friends say, that all though Jesus speaks the absolute truth, Mohammed also speaks the absolute truth, and the problem is they contradict each other on certain points. You can not have A be absolute true and then B be absolute true, if A and B contradict each other, coz that does nothing then but to allow C to come along, claiming C is absolute truth, in spite of the fact that C contradicts both B and A. You can not have absolute truth contradicted by another absolute truth.
One thing about Muslims and its every single time and I appreciate it. They say it is the word of God and there very passionate about it and there is no way you can rationally have a
Conversation with that. The same way if im asked, why do I believe the Bible is the word of God and I look them in the face and say because it’s the word of God….Rational discourse has broken down.
