I'm not bashing what anyone wrote either. Just because somebody disagrees with something that you agree with, that's no reason to assume bashing is involved. If I wanted to 'bash' what somebody wrote, I would have quoted it and carefully picked it apart. The only thing I came close to bashing is the harsh way some people talk, gossip etc. about those who suffer with body image issues. I wish they would just mind their own business (ie: not gossip, not pick on individuals in real life etc). This is a general thing, not specifically directed at posters on this thread. In my experience, some like to boast about their 'moral superiority' over those who feel bad enough about their situation to have procedures done in order to alleviate their personal suffering.

Personally, I think things like plastic surgery fall in a gray area. While it can certainly be used foolishly, I think it can also be used wisely. A lot depends on the situation, the people involved, healthy or unhealthy attitudes etc.

Voicing a differing opinion and backing it up with your thoughts is not an attack. I never tried debating I just defended my views. So yeah, I would appreciate it if we can stop accusing people of things falsely. Nobody attacked anyone, why can't people just accept that others will disagree and leave it at that? Everything has to be an attack if it differs from what was first stated. Sometimes people here seem to think that nobody is allowed to defend themselves....It's getting ridiculous....

And Mina I don't think any one person is to blame for derailing the thread. I don't think any one person, you included, should take all the blame.

I never said any of that so let's not start presuming things. It's fine to post your opinion and defend it. That is, as long as your opinion is written passively, if you know what I mean. However, if it is the opinion that causes people to take offense, then it was posted in a more aggressive tone. That's all I was saying. And since this topic did become an argumentative discussion, there must have been some opinions thrown in there that came off a little too harshly.

IMHO plastic surgery is saying that God mesed up and didn't know what he was doing when he created you...

Actually I have to agree with this, unless its something lifethreatening that needs removed, who knows what that could be, I don't believe it is part of God's plan for anyone to improve their looks because they feel the need to. God makes us the way we are for His own reasons, who are we to tell Him that He messed up? I feel the same about make up, and you cant say weight loss cause as was pointed out already we can lose weight because we put it on, we are responsible for weight issues thats not God's doing.

Not saying it would be a sin or anything, just that IMO it's not a good thing, but it's your choice of course. I aint trying to judge ya, just giving my personal thoughts on the topic. As far as i know we are all entitled to our own views right?

I understand what's being said here, but don't you find it a little offensive to tell someone that the way they think and feel about a situation or subject is hurting the savior that they love? You're basically saying that people who feel that plastic surgery is okay are telling God that his creation is lousy. But seriously, do you really think these people feel that way? That's why your opinion was taken the way it was.

Doesn't that sound kind of like an attack? An attack against another persons opinion, in fact. How ironic. Anyway, I can't see how this would NOT start an argument.

Now, unless you have some good evidence against this, let's return to a peaceful conversation.

I'm sorry if anyone doesn't like my opinion but everything I posted is how I actually feel, and since everyone else is allowed to state their own opinions openly so will I. You can take it how you like but to me it IS telling God that He messed up, I will not lie about how I feel. Others said things I disagree with but I didn't take it personally because I can respect their views even though I don't agree with them. I know they are just telling it how they feel, I don't ever expect them to tone that down for my feelings, they are not directing it at me they are just voicing their opinions. If it was something flat out directed at me then I'd take it personal and deal with it depending on what was said, but I don't remember directing this at any one person, I directed my comments at the topic not the people, as I stated in my initial post you quoted and in the ones since....

Now this is turning into an argument and I have no desire to go any further with this discussion, I feel I have stated my position on all of these topics already so if you have any questions just read back in the thread. I'm done with this thread. I have no hard feelings for anyone, hopefully there is none in return.

There is a lot I wanted to say in my first post in this thread and a lot I still want to say, but I think it's best that I don't. I only mentioned plastic surgery in the first place b/c it was in relation to the OP, any other disscussion on this thread about plastic surgery has been in response to how I felt. This was not a thread about plastic surgery and I'm sorry that I even posted here to begin with. sweetlambofgod, i'm not mad at you, but I do kind of see how your response to me "I can't believe you said that" could be taken the wrong way. My first reaction at reading that was shock actually, b/c even if you didn't agree with me, i'm not a worthless christian for admiting to this on a thread about looks. And no you didn't say that in those words, but I read harshness behind it. And that's probably my fault. There is a lot that you post that I can't believe you would post, but i don't come after you about any of it. Anyways, I'm sorry for my attitude towards you. I'm sorry this thread has turned into what it has, and i'm sorry that kelco is no longer here.

Mina, I didn't want to be harsh to you, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. That was not my intent and I hope you know that. And Kelco didn't leave because of this thread. And I miss her dearly too. I really hope she comes back.
