  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi all Tony I really do know what you are talking about. Your story reminded me of a situation many years ago. I was in high school and generally a very conscientous student but was lured astray by my two buds and we played hooky. We headed a few blocks down town and enjoyed the morning or at least about a half an hour of it. I was feeling so happy and carefree that I hop skipped jumped across the street and then went to kick forward my toe in a little dance step and BAM hit the solid curb with my right toe. It was definitely broken but it was a dilemma. How do I explain this to mom. It ended up I was in so much pain that I couldn't go to any classes, couldn't go home early and so suffered all day. Then I had to walk home which was at least a mile. I think it is called natural consequences. Jan

Hey, Jan! Man, it's the pitz isn't it! Nothing smarts like a toe jam! I'm sorry yours got broken, but hopefully, after all this time, it's okay again. Makes me feel so dumb when something like that happens. Definitely natural consequences--that says it.:D

God bless,

t.

Oh Tony thanks so much for your belated sympathy to my toes demise. Yeah it hurt for a few days but taped up I managed fine. I also more recently(about 3 years ago) broke my fifth metatarsal(foot bone) before Christmas tripping on a rubber dog bone. I didn't go to the doctor till a week later when I found out it really was broken. I even did my Christmas shopping on it but believe me I was quick and prayed that I would find everything I needed fast. lol I never did get a cast as by then I was then on holiday from school where I work so could just sit and rest it. Where I had once gingerly RUN a staircase
today I hang on tight
Having faith that should I lose my footing
my hands and arms will hold on
I struggled with a saucepan of boiled potatoes ONCE
and NOW I just 'make for me'

I understand and commiserate with the fractured metatarsal
I did the one behind the Big Toe on my right foot
a few years back
and the resultant joint damage is now termed a valgus

I have been so ill (in the past) and even
shortly before Miggles showed me to CF
where, it has been necessary for me to CRAWL
on hands and knees to the boys room

My testimony is, that this no-longer happens
I CAN still get about and CAN take a bus into town
AND several buses and a coach so, to travel
around 182 miles to Mary's home (up North)

I COULDNT have contemplated this
back before coming to CF

THERE IS SOMETHING HERE
It's called Fellowship

Fellowship in the Love and Spirit of Jesus Christ
I CAN 'pray' again and be left feeling strong
and full of warmth.
A warmth that I can only call: well-being
WHERE! what troubled me DOESNT
leastways NOT ANY MORE
All praise to the Lord
(my faith in him will never fail again)
His Love and Mercy and Divine Grace
are THERE for-me
and are there for you also

THIS I KNOW!

Nobody knows
the troubles of my toe,
Nobody knows the pain...
Nobody feels
de agony of de feet,
So we'll ressurect it once again.

There. How's that?
And there are not too many things I can say this about, but I truly was too young to read when those things were around. I just remember my parents reading them to us on long Sunday drives.

Hey, I remember reading about Burma Shave.

Eight or so signs--all lined up along the highway, each about 100 feet apart from the next--could have read:

Here's for the woe
Of Jim's big toe,

Squashed by a rock
He himself dropped--

Now famously known,
(As Jimmy still moans)

Attracting churls
And internet urls,

Come to observe
Our comforting words,

All for the sake
Of his mistake!

Now, all in sync:
"Awwwwwwww, poor Jim!"

BURMA SHAVE
