  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay, so for as long mankind had been created, no doubt they've questioned how humans began to be. Even before I was Christian, I always believed that there was a Divine being that created the universe.

Now think about this now for a minute. It's just not possible of space matter, or the universe in itself to create itself! Duh! You would need a being of extraordinary intelligence, better known as God. It's just way too complex just for some space rocks and matter to go "Boom! Ta-Da!" The Big Bang Theory is (pardon the language) quite frankly, [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]! The people who believe in that irrational theory never prove how it came to be, either! They respond "Well, it's true....because...I, uh... I said it!"

Liberals, and non-believers of the like.....If You Don’t Know Something, Admit It. You'll be way more respected. This only hurts you in the long run. Don’t get caught in the trap of believing you have to know everything about everything. Your adversary will undoubtedly use this against you and know something you don’t. And that's not limited to political affiliation. It’s fair to simply state, "I didn’t know that, but I’ll be happy to research and get back to you.”

Another side-note here:

Don’t bring up a topic with which you aren’t passingly familiar of.

I do agree that Darwinian evolution and other proposals as to how the universe, the earth and all creatures came to be lack just as much "evidence" as some tell Christians we should have for our beliefs. (Keeping in mind that God is outside of the realm of science). For some reason, many unbelievers insist that because we cannot scientifically study God Himself, He doesn't exist. I've always considered this view to be quite arrogant. How can we as creation think we can somehow pick apart our Creator?

And many are so busy attacking Christian beliefs, that they don't address the questions and lack of "evidence" as to their own.

I mentioned Darwinian evolution. We have all seen that nice little diagram that depicts the "evolution of man" from ape-like creature to present day. Well, where is the fossil record? Are we supposed to believe a simple drawing proves everything when they say the entire Bible, written over hundreds of years by many different authors, does not?

And in regard to the complexity of life, I agree with you. Why does the idea that "everything came from nothing" spontaneously and for no apparent reason, make more sense than an intelligent Creator? Even with comparatively simple, man-made inventions we would never believe that. I always think of a watch. Compared to the intricacies of life a watch is pretty simple, and yet no one would accept the idea that a watch doesn't have a creator or inventor. No one would look at a watch and say it "just happened." And if we took a watch apart and laid out all of its tiny pieces on a table, who would ever claim that it would somehow eventually just randomly come together into a working mechanism?

An Intellegent Creator makes far more sense to me when I look all around me and see all of the amazing and beautiful complexities that make up this earth and all that lives on it.

While my own spiritual path has evolved over the years,
undergoing various transitions, the one thing that has
always remained was a basic belief that there is a God,
or Creator, or Intelligence behind everything.

It may be simplistic, but I apply the same rationale to
the existence of this universe that I would to the
existence of a painting or the pyramids. I may not know
the precise details of the maker(s), but I'm pretty sure
they were made. The Mona Lisa wasn't the result of a
randomly-spilled bucket of paint.

So far, there's been nothing in my successive paradigms
over the years that would drive me to want to deny that
there's a God/Creator/Intelligence. If that time comes,
I'll be in a better position to understand why I would
wish to do such a thing (though it still wouldn't really seem
logical somehow).
