I suspect that we would get along swimmingly if each person focussed on the text before them instead of on the author of the post to which they are responding. Focus on the ideas and not on the persons.
tthis is whats wrong with christianity people cant just kep to what Jesus tried to explain to us all and ther message and people made it into their own agendas and ideals. soo stupid if you ask me.

How did this go onto racism? I was gone about 24 hours and there's 3 new pages to this thread, debating some stuff that happened way in the past..and about racism..and completely unrelated topics..
Look, guys. I started this thread to express my feelings..and how truely sad I am to see what's going on here right now. And all this has become is a place where the arguing has continued.What happened to the place of love and fellowship we had a month or two ago? Satan has really worked his way into our group. So much arguing!!! This is beyond even just the simple defensive debting that emerged between the progressives and traditionals before, from what I've seen.
To be completely honest, the way things are going..I might just leave the SDA area for awhile. I don't know. I want to help, and I love all you guys here..But this isn't Godly or constructive half of the time anymore. At least untill you guys sort it all out, anyway. Right now we're heading down a road that might force a split.
Sigh. Anyway. If we don't get back onto subject (or at least change the negative direction this thread is in right now) I'll probably get it closed. It's not going anywhere good at the moment.

I, though white, came in through a black church. I still need to visit one now and then to get my spiritual vitamins!I love the preaching of Martin Luther King, T.D. Jakes, C.D. Brooks and E.E. Cleveland.I also love black worship services that are rousing and celebratory. At least you know they are alive.
BTW, I believe Roy Adams was robbed of the Review editorship. Not for racial reasons, but for theological ones.
However, that is another thread for another time.

I try to keep the younger people on this forum in mind when I post something, because I know full well what's it's like to witness a bunch of older people going at it.

Sarah, It is sad that this has happened. It is because people like to argue. Usually a couple of people with conflicting opinions get on and get into an argument then other people take sides and join the argument. It gets on my nerves a lot of the time that every thread becomes a debate thread. Actually, Paul said it was better not to debate controversial topics. You can pm me if you want to talk.

We all need to get things out of our system sometimes, and I know that it was not your intention when the split was origionally brought up for all of this to happen. Things seem to be looking up a bit at the moment, so maybe the storm is passing..

Very true. There's a level of defensiveness people gain when they are confronted with conflicting views on a subject that is so important to them, too. Which can cause the debate and arguing.

Of course there was no racism (not saying there is now), if there were no people of color here and that fact was known.....
