My orchestra teacher is apparently very angry at my private teacher and has done several things in the past weeks that would be considered discrimanatory against her students. He gave one very talented first violinist in my orchestra a 9/20 on a playing test... seemingly without reason, according to most people I've talked to. And two second violinists in another orchestra who have always been first violins before this year, asked him if they could be moved into the first violin section. These kids had been forced to be seconds because at the beginning of the year, when they arrived in class, there were no seats left in the first violin section. My private teacher tells me that these are good kids and the second violin section isn't challenging enough for them. When the kids asked my orchestra teacher, one of them mentioned that she had said that. He was like, "[my private teacher] is behind this?!" And he said they couldn't be, because he didn't "get along with her". My private teacher is a wonderful Christian and a great person. I don't know why my orchestra teacher is doing this. It's hurtful to my private teacher, to the students, and ultimately to himself! Please pray for him. He must be going through hard times. He is normally a cheerful, optimistic person.
I'm adding this on:
Today I am auditioning for next year. It will determine which orchestra I am put into. My private teacher has encouraged her students to lie about who they study with, which I do not agree with. I am going to say that I study with her. Please pray that the orchestra teacher does not discrimate against those of us who tell him the truth. It means a lot to me to be in the best orchestra, and all my friends are in that orchestra too. I have worked so hard on this music, and I think that if I am put in a lower orchestra I won't be able to take it...
