yall may have already read how i learned about how i learned and about to join about the SDA church in a thread or two awhile ago but this is a more detailed version that i emaild my pastor cause he asked me to so he could send it to amazing facts and steve delong(u will see in a min who he is) well i copyed and paste so here it is:
Last year we got something in the mail talking about evangelistic meetings in the area. My mother took me her and my sister took us to the meetings and we went everynight for around two to three weeks. For the first week or so my mother mainly agree with many things he said ,but as he got deeper and deeper into prophecy my mom started to disagree with some things Steve DeLong (the one preeching) said. My mom said that we werent going anymore after one of the meetings so we stopped going. On the night that Steve was talking about the Sabbath he handed out an Amazing Facts study guide on the subject. I kept it but never really looked at it ,but after a month or so when we stopped going I rediscovered it, read through it, answered the questions, and sent it to Amazing Facts. Also on the same night he gave out little pamphlets about the Seventh-Day Adventist church ,and around the same time I refound the study guide I found the booklet. I looked up the church and when I looked at the Fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-Day Adventist church I didn't understand about half of them. Though as I did the Amazing Facts study guides I started to understand. Some time after that I checked to see if an Seventh-Day Adventist was in my town. I found only one to my suprise because it seems like we have about 10 churches for every denomination down here! When I first visited ,which was sometime in Septemeber, the preacher wasn't there though I didn't know so I thought theone preaching was the preacher. Sadly, I didn't like it and when I tried again in Novemeber the same thing happen. At that time I claimed to be Christian but I never lived like one and I think that was a part of the reason why I didn't like it then. My eyes weren't "opened" at that time ,I guess, is the best way I can put it. At the end of Feb. ,when I was about half way through with my lessons and had just started wanting to live like a Christian, I decided to try the church just one more time. This time when I went I highly enjoyed it. I went back for two more weeks and after that I decided that I wanted to join the church and be baptized soon so I could obey Christ and join the remnent church. So I emailed the pastor and thats how I got here.
