Lord Father, you know the pain and the anxiety that is going through this father's heart. Be with Him O Mighty Lord during this time in his life. Let him feel Your loving arms gathering him close and giving his heart peace. O Father, let this young man find strength as he waits on the courts and his judgement. Let this be a time of healing, of restoration for him. Let him see that You are faithful O Lord and You forgive those that ask. Let his heart be softened towards You Father, let him see Your glory working his life. Father, nothing is impossible for You. Take the life of this young man and let it be rejuvinated. Am requesting prayer for my oldest son (age 26). Without going into the details, he has a history with the courts and the system and I just found out recently violated his probation (non violent).

I just got off the phone with family and am told that as of today's hearing, he is looking at full re-instatement of the original sentence which is up to 5 yrs prison.

I am torn with a father's love and his obligation to the law. this hurts very deeply.

edit to add: the purpose of this OP is simply for prayer for my son - the hows, whys and anything else is irrelevant. this thread IS NOT a request for counsel, parental suggestions, what I shoulda/coulda/woulda/need to do, or reminders about the dangers that my son might face as in" pray he survives the 5 years....&quot. the dangers are on my mind enough 24/7 so dont need to read those type comments here in a, ummm, SUPPORT forum.
again, to those that are praying for my son, my deepest appreciation.

God you understand this mans heart, you after all the ultimate Father. So God I pray that you will be this mans comfort be his hope and stay at this time give him peace in his heart. Father I also pray for his Son. God you know what it is best for him,give him an understanding of his situation and God please make the desicion that is made one that is best for all concerned you know the future and the past you know our hearts and even though sometimes we don't understand you can always direct us please direct this family at this time.
Ps. I had a friend go to court over something and she should rightfully have got a criminal record (which would have killed her career) and probably/maybe some time in jail and she walked away with a good behaviour bond - nothing else - I'm not saying that this will happen but God is more then capable and the outcome will be in his hands I will keep you in my prayers

I pray for your blessing in his life lord, help him to make peace with his past and help him to see the wonderous future you have laid out for him. Bring him into your heart lord and comfort him in this time of uncertainty....I pray that you will be the judge in that court room, lord that it be your hands and your heart guiding the decisions that day. I pray for his father lord....give him a renewed stregnth in his times of trials. Meet with him lord and help him to see your hand in this all. Lord, bring about the best future for the son and the entire family. We know that You work things for the good of those who love You, and You have done some amazing things.

Only You know what solutions are most effective... and even though we have regiments in our minds of how to retrain or make restitution, and we have a decent legal system to work within, You have some other very ingenious options. Bring the best life for him.

Show JO's son that You are beside him wherever he goes.

Protect their family from typical social condemnations, gossip, and presumptions. Cover them with a blanket of protection and truth.

UPDATE:

My son called my mom the other day who called me later (he can do a 3 way thru a local friend to my mom long distance to save money on collect calls):

his lawyer and the DA had an "Intervention" over a week ago about his case and soem new stuff came up but dontknow if its pertainable to his sentencing. he is still in county jail awaiting for the court fro sentencing tio prison and according to the call to my mom the other day, he expects to know on 27 Nov where and how long. finally. His lawyer is trying to get time served (got about 3 yrs jail time now on this arrest towards a prison sentence.

My son made a request that he never done before:
he has asked for prayer concerning this and his life. didnt say anything about finding God or anything but asked for folks to pray for him.

so here it is.

Are any new things transpiring this month? What a difficult realization to go through, facing that what might have been a release would turn into a few years there.

hey! thanks for posting and remembering my son. the latest is that he has a hearing in a couple weeks to set a date FINALLY for a trial. He was given an offer by the DA that was totally ridiculous and he rejected it - 10 yrs suspended sentence PLUS probation instead of maybe 3 - 5 yrs prison time and it be done with. SO now, its the waiting game again.

please keep my son in mind. AFter all these years of his troubles - he asked for prayers a month ago and the tones of his cards over the holidays suggests that maybe he is thinking the "bad boy" life aint what its cracked up to be. Out of the last 10 or so yrs, about 8 of them has been behind bars or probation.

but he finally asking folks to include even someone like me to pray tells me he may be finally realizing he needs to change his outlook/attitude.

Plus, I am trying to re-enlist and go back in the service and he is concerned for me since theres this little war going on.

Time extensions are supposed to help. I've heard many stories of lightened sentences when things drag on... let's hope this is another one! Especially if he has re-evaluated his life.

Just bumping this back up. He is still ikn the legal limbo stage - not tried yet, not convicted but still in holding while the DA, lawyers, judges, etc argue, talk, etc. he cant start his sentence until he gets sentenced....

I just came across this thread and I'm sorry to hear that your beloved son is going through this. I know it must weigh very hard on your heart, but I'm glad to see that he's asking for prayers.

Lord, bless JAO's son, give him strength and wisdom, place in his heart a determination to make something of himself... even if he ends up in prison. Bless him, watch over him, bless this family and help strengthen them all while going through this. Let his life be turned around. In Jesus' name, Amen.

its been 10 months now in limbo waiting and its draining on him. The only thing that I guess one could say is good coming from this is that for the first time in teh apst coupe months, he is mentioning requests for prayer, not so much for sentencing but for him.

I wonder if that's the cheap solution toward repentance -- letting people squirm for a while without the town having to pay for housing him. I hope he is able to get things in order -- housing, bills, relationships etc. while he's waiting.

His name is Aaron.

He finally has a trial date - its starts this coming Monday, 7 May.

whether its favorable or not so, its going to finally be over one way or the other. he cant see the end until he begins and he cant begin until he gets sentenced.

so, please keep my son in your prayers while he goes thru this finaly stage of court - good, bad, indifferent. (finally!)
