My Son

Am requesting prayer for my oldest son (age 26). Without going into the details, he has a history with the courts and the system and I just found out recently violated his probation (non violent).

I just got off the phone with family and am told that as of today's hearing, he is looking at full re-instatement of the original sentence which is up to 5 yrs prison.

I am torn with a father's love and his obligation to the law. this hurts very deeply.

edit to add: the purpose of this OP is simply for prayer for my son - the hows, whys and anything else is irrelevant. this thread IS NOT a request for counsel, parental suggestions, what I shoulda/coulda/woulda/need to do, or reminders about the dangers that my son might face as in" pray he survives the 5 years....&quot. the dangers are on my mind enough 24/7 so dont need to read those type comments here in a, ummm, SUPPORT forum.
again, to those that are praying for my son, my deepest appreciation.

Sometimes we need to let them learn the hard way.
And pray that they survive the 5 years.

Be there to support them, but if they havent learned yet.. What will it take to have them learn that such behavour is wrong ?

Phillipians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

He can give a peace that nothing/ no one else can give. Jesus knows the entire situation down to every little detail. Rely on Him to get you and your son through this.

Dear Lord, I pray for the son Lord that if it's your will he would not have to serve the five years. I pray for mercy by the Judge to see this young man. I pray that whatever happens that he will be safe and okay. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

An elderly friend of mine is going through just this scenario. As well as a girlfriend of mine whose daughter is bi-polar and keeps driving without a license.

Praying for all children who have made poor choices and for their families who love them and want to help. Father, you know the needs of these people and their families. Father please place your hedge of protection around them as they must fulfill their sentences. Please get them involved with the good people in the prisons and protect them from the evil that resides there. Help them to complete their sentences and leave the facility without damage. In the name of your beautiful and glorious son, Jesus/Yeshua, our savior!

I really appreciate the prayers. He is still in county jail waiting for the DA and judge to decide final sentencing. But, from my heart, I appreciate any and all prayers for him.

Father, I pray that You would do what is eternally best for this young man, that if there's any way he could get off with a more lenient sentence that You would make the way, that he would not be a political pawn of some hot-shot behind a desk somewhere, but the truth and justice would truly be served.

I pray he would bow his heart to You and that You would be his shield and his exceedingly great reward.
